APAT Irish (Dublin) Sun 29th-Mon 30th Oct 17
« on: October 20, 2017, 02:33:00 AM »

The APAT Irish Amateur Poker Championship (NLHE) €100+€20 will run alongside the IPO Dublin and take place in The Bonnington Hotel (re-named from The Regency Hotel), Health Club and Spa over two days Sunday 29th and Monday 30th October 2017.

The Irish Amateur Poker Championship is scheduled to start on Sunday 29th at 2:00pm and return on Monday for a 12:00 noon start and play to completion which is expected around 10pm.

As previously, changes have been made to the 'normal' APAT structure which we consider will be both attractive to the local player base and also aid the timely completion of the event within the allocated time frame.  The 'normal' APAT starting stack will increase from 15k to 20k.

Alongside the APAT Irish Amateur Poker Championship, and the IPO Dublin Main Event, there are numerous side events over the weekend - both NLHE and PLO.  There will be 24/7 NLHE and PLO cash tables.

The Irish Championship attracts Season 11 Ranking Leaderboard Points for the Top 18 finishers, and the top ranked player on the APAT S11 leaderboard at the end will win the Added Value of a GUKPT Main Event seat, worth £550.  You can view the up-to-date POTY Leaderboard HERE

In addition to the prizepool, which is estimated at €30,000, APAT coveted National Championship Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded, and the Irish Champion will also win the ADDED VALUE of a GUKPT Main Event seat, worth £550.

The Bonnington Hotel encompasses 240 bedrooms in total.  Check-in is available from 2pm and checkout is 11am. Breakfast is served from 7am-10am daily.  The hotel is located 3km north of Dublin City Centre on the main route to Dublin's International Airport (6km), close to all major attractions, including Croke Park the Home of GAA, which is only a mere 10-15 min walk. The Helix Theatre, Clontarf Golf Club, The Botanic Gardens and Dublin City University are all on the doorstep.  O'Connell Street, Bord Gais Energy Theatre and The 3 Arena (formerly the O2 arena) Concert venue are only a short bus ride from the Hotel, with numerous regular buses stopping right outside the Hotel.  There is a 5 Star State of the Art Leisure Centre with Swimming Pool, Gym and Spa attached to The Bonnington.  There is also a newly opened McGettigans Bar where Rugby, GAA and Soccer matches are shown on a big screen, and the bar has live music at weekends.  Bar food is served till 9pm daily.
