From the UK, the obvious travel choice would be Eurostar from St Pancras, direct to Brussels Midi.
There might be the potential for some group discount if there was enough interest to book together. I'm more than happy to facilitate this, but we'll need to start thinking about making some arrangements sooner rather than later.
So, who fancies a long weekend in Brussels this October ?
Who's been before, got any advice or comments ?
Let's make this happen !!!!!!!

Leigh,
I spoke to Belgian Tom :) in Manchester and he indicated that the final schedule would be put to bed this week (or possibly next)...he was speaking to the card room after the WCOAP.
Personal perspective
I confess, I'm really teetering on attending, my inclination is to get in there but I was hoping for a little more Omaha (Nightly €75...I'm there).
When they get the final details nailed down...I'll decide then whether to pull the trigger.
Otherwise
OK, ignore ME and what I want. I can tell you from personal experience that the Belgian Team are TOP EFFIN' NOTCH. They luuurve their poker...and it shows.
They put on a super schedule (this is their best so far) and they are as welcoming as we have come to expect from APAT.
I've attended Namur twice and had a great time on both occasions (hotel stairs notwithstanding). Although I haven't made it to Spa yet (other commitments/conflicts) the reports I've had from those who did say they had a great time.
Oh...and the beer is pretty good too.
I'd urge ANYONE who's missed out on the APAT European excursions to SERIOUSLY think about making this one. Getting there is a train ride or two (Eurostar return can be has for less than £100 if booked early..and flights are similar) and I'm happy to give advice (such as it is) regarding hotels*.
*After I book mine..natch!

Thank you guys for the great support! Unfortunately I just received some bad news that might mean some major changes to the ECOAP and the proposed schedule. I made a seperate topic for it, but I'll copy the post here:
===================
What a great time we had in Manchester! Unfortunately just a couple of hours after returning home, I received a disturbing message from the poker manager of the Brussels Casino, the venue for the European Championship of Amateur Poker.
Brussels has a WPT branded poker room and every year they hold a few WPT National events. One of these events is usually held mid-October, but for the last couple of months they confirmed they didn't have plans to have an October festival this year.
Exactly that time slot was given to us to hold the APAT ECOAP.
Unfortunately yesterday WPT suddenly decided they do want to have a festival in October, and since the original contract between Brussels and WPT states that a WPT event has to take place in October, this might have a major effects on the schedule or even the dates for the ECOAP!!
We are currently discussing the possibilities; the Casino prefers to hold our event, so they are doing their best to keep everything as agreed... I proposed a joint ECOAP/WPT festival where we keep our schedule (or at least the bigger part of it) and the WPT works their schedule around it.
Therefor:
!!! PLEASE DON'T MAKE ANY TRAVEL PLANS AT THIS POINT !!!
I will keep you updated as soon as I have more news!
