The APAT UK Poker Championship will be played at the Grosvenor Casino Coventry over 5th - 6th August 2017 with the 8-Game the preceding two days.

Can players please consider using the APAT LateRooms link above as they are an APAT commercial partner and extremely competitive.

Prices: For this one, I'm not going to quote prices as the Goliath is an event in and of itself and so player's requirements (and hence stay dates) will  vary wildly. In general, though, the closer you are, the more you will pay.

Consider the differential between staying a (shared?) £10 cab ride away  and saving £50 a night. Coventry M6/J2 has several options as does Nuneaton (my personal preference).

I'm sure most of you know but for those that don't this is during the "Goliath" festival so there will be literally hundreds and hundreds of poker players there from all over the UK. So if booking a room I'd do it fast.

The last day one of the Goliath (day 1 G) got about 1,350 runners last year and there are 30 cash games going at peak times.

Should be great!!!

Hey guys, very happy to see an 8-game event outside of the WCOAP. Is there any way to book a place - will there be Eventbrite for it? Would hate to miss out.

I am assured here will be online registration via Grosvenor Poker and, I have no doubts, Eventbrite registration.

We've sent off our request to Grosvenor Poker for an Online Holding Tank for all 3 APAT events being held during Goliath and once these 'open' we'll release full details via the APAT Forum Player Briefing and copy it to FB....

We'll only be having an Eventbrite 'reserve a seat' facility for the APAT Main Event (UK Amateur Poker Championship) which will open shortly after the equivalent Holding Tank opens on Grosvenor...

NB  A CHANGE TO THE USUAL APAT EVENTBRITE will be in place for the APAT Main Event during Goliath... seats will be reserved until 1 HOUR PRIOR TO EVENT START TIME and NOT 'actual event start time' as has been the case historically... purely due to the expected 'FML' in the casino on the day!

Please also note.... NO buyins will be taken for ANY event in the Ricoh Arena (including Goliath)... ALL buyins will have to take place in the Grosvenor Casino at the casino cash desk...

Hi mates, what's the best way to go about it if wanting to play Flight G of the Goliath on Friday and the APAT main on Saturday if not making day 2 of the Golaith. Is it gonna be possible to register for both and then unreg the apat if you make day 2 of the Golaith?

Hi, I would suggest doing the following:

Register in the Grosvenor Online Holding Tank for the Goliath Flight G - this guarantees you your seat and saves you being stuck in a queue on the day

Reserve A Seat via APAT Eventbrite for APAT UK Amateur Poker Championship - this reserves you a seat until 1 hour prior to the APAT event starting - if you don't pay the full buyin at the casino cash desk before this time then your seat will be freed up for someone else at that point - it does cost you £5 to reserve (which goes to paying for our update/blogging guys throughout Season 11) but it guarantees you a seat right up to 1 hour prior (the APAT Online Holding Tank will be closed before you finish your Goliath Day 1, so that's not an option as anyone who is in the Holding Tank when it closes is actually 'registered into the event at that time' and chips go into play from the start of the event for all those still in the Holding Tank when it closes).

We'll be releasing a full Player Briefing for all APAT games during Goliath once our Online Holding Tanks go live - which I expect to happen this week.

Hi Gabor, I'm not keen on that method... as I may well forget on the day!  However, I'm very happy to buy you into the HT for the 8-Game and you can ship me the money if that's suits...
