It is my absolute pleasure to announce that we can confirm the venue and dates for the ECOAP.
The oldest casino in the world will be the host for the 2017 APAT European Championship of Amateur Poker (ECOAP).
The Casino de Spa was established in 1763 and still has some of the grandeur of the past. The idyllic town of Spa is situated in a valley of the Ardennes, 35km south of Liège and 45km southwest of Aachen (Germany). The town of Spa is famous for its several natural mineral springs, and is also the location of mineral water producer Spa, whose mineral water is exported worldwide.
The ECOAP will take place from 11 to 15 October 2017 and will include an International Team Championship (Oct 12-13) and a 2-day Main Event with 2 starting days (Oct 13-14-15).
The Team Championship will be an invite only where 4-player national teams will compete in a series of events to claim the European Amateur Poker Team Champions title.
The Main Event will feature 2 starting days (Oct 13-14), playing down the a winner on the Oct 15th.
In the next few days we will publish more details for hotel and transport information.

European Amateur Poker Team Championship
October 12th/13th - Spa, Belgium.
Whilst Germany look to defend their title, and Belgium hope to go one better, it is with great pleasure to confirm that long term APATer JP Round will captain England at the ECOAP.

On a side note: for UK/international players that are not in a team, we are planning to have a private Side Event on Thursday afternoon as well... More details soon.

This schedule is biased against the English team and JP should lodge a complaint.

First of all my apologies for the late response to some of your e-mails and messages (due to a combination of vacation and some personal issues).
Unfortunately we don't have a hotel deal in Spa (we were talking to a hotel that was closed in October but maybe wanted to open up for us; unfortunately they couldn't get enough of their regular staff so they chose to stay closed)
Below I can give you some advice for hotels. Also there are some very nice B&B's and apartments for rent in the area, so if you are travelling with a group, this is certainly a very cheap and easy solution!

The Team Captains have received all the details of the format. As agreed with Des and Tom we have made a few changes that will be evaluated after the event. In brief, the team format looks like this:
Day 1:
1/ 2x HU -- 2x 4-max
2/ 2x NLH -- 1x PLO -- 1x CP
3/ 4x NLH Team SNG (every player starts his SNG, but after a few levels of play, all team stacks are added together and play continues as a 'super SNG' with 1 player for every country playing, having to make a substitution every level)
Day 2:
4/ 6-max SNG's with 2x NLH -- 1x PLO -- 1x CP
5/ MTT with all players
