2.35 Newmarket
Khor Sheed
Don't k now about today's racing but SAGAMORE runs on Tuesday at Lingfield. 2 furlongs extra should suit him and with Buick on board. Don't know much about the rest off the field, will look closer once the declaration as been made.
how did it run?
I am at work so do not see the race, what I meant was did it win easy, from the front, from behind, did it look like it had more to give?
It's got a good future,
I"ve just studied the Ayr gold cup (3.20).High draws prevailed in the sprints on the first 2 days of the meeting. Jonny Mudball is drawn 25 and likes to blaze a trail from the front and could be hard to peg back.Redford is interesting now being trained by the king of sprinters Dandy Nicholls,he"s been running over further and tumbling down the weights he has the added bonus of Frankie on board. Finally being a scotsman i cant leave out Hawkeyethenoo, looking to give scotlands its first win in the race for 35 years.A rapidly improving horse.Drawn in 16 might not help this hold up performer but heart rules the head here. Most firms going 5 places ,so plenty of value to be had.
anything blue with a jockey called frankie on it
well i was at Newmarket today [friday] and having seen dream ahead i must say wowser, he made the others look very ordinary.. one for the 2000 guineas if it is soft going without a doubt imho , good ground plus then the obvious frankel but patchfork may well spring a surprise..
well for the saturday donkey lets have a go at 3 of the toughest big field races at newmarket :)
1:55 - £300,000 Tattersalls Millions [only 21 runners]
Together - the favourite for good reason, its got a touch of class and she is quick ;D
2:25 - £500,000 Tattersalls Millions [only 27 runners]
State Opera - a Mr Johnston late 2yo debutant , just the one run a couple of weeks ago at hamilton , worth a punt imho , Mr Haggas has a once raced horse called Fury with fallon aboard which maybe a danger..
3:40 - Cambridgeshire [only 35 runners]
Taqleed - errr well handicapped imho should have at least another 10lbs... got 12"s today , its getting backed down so maybe shorter yet...
Emirates Dream - can frankie make it a hat-trick of saturday big handicaps , good chance to do so on this.. i"ve took/snapped up 20"s on betfair....
gla , may the punting gods be with you....
Big pot in the scoop 6 today ,anyone having a go. Will post my picks later.
Were you still there for the end to watch Scottish Boogie stroll home in the last?

I"m on Fame and Glory in the arc, misty for me in the 1.10
I"m on Fame and Glory in the arc, misty for me in the 1.10
Trying to get my head round the Kelso card.It has the going as good to firm, i"m 10 miles away and its been chucking down for about the last 10 hours.
tbh Nakayama Festa getting beat by Duncan wouldn"t fill me with confidence.. none of the arc field have strong claims though :) pretty open this year..
fabre supplemented Lope De Vega tuesday , i couldn"t ignore that , fabre is a class act and wont supplement lightly plus at the start of the season Workforce and Lope De Vega looked really nice prospects, hiccups since , workforce may of bounced lto , de vega"s last 2 were odd runs over 8f , but for those de vega would be favourite imho..
Youmzain ?? maybe 2nd again lol , poor ole channon , such a great horse yet so unlucky meeting up with sea the stars, dylan thomas and zarkova , will he meet another of this class today? potentially with a little hope that they spring back to form i think it maybe workforce or lope de vega... meh u gotta luv it...
unlucky louis , we should of done a forecast... good race
naaaa lol u gotta laugh , those froggies luvvv a stewards inquiry , but i"ll be surprised if workforce is involved..
I have my shortlist down to -
Ballyfoy
Maktu
Dance Island
I"moncloudnine - 3rd 16/1
Ballyfitz - 4th 8/1
Theatre Dance
Giles Cross - 2nd 12/1
I"m not a fan of backing of 4-6/1 shots in a slog like this so Maktu gets crossed off.. Recent form makes me prefer Ballyfitz, he"s getting on but Nigel TD has had a good season upto now so its worth a each way dabble imho and win bet on Dance Island who finished behind a well handicapped King Fontaine at haydock reads better than it looks imo...
Good luck if your having a punt today [come on you toffees ;D]
just the one race again, i"ve had a fine comb through the 3.35 at Kempton and i"ve backed 2 each way, i"m not going mad but i quietly fancy a weeee profit.. [cross the fingers]
First Point 4th 14/1
Hills Of Aran
The King George goes off shortly at 3pm, can Kauto do it again? meh Hendersons pair Long Run 1st 9/2 and Riverside Theatre 2nd 10/1 look like the improvers....
Riverside is interesting as he won cosily lto, he has grown a bit since his fifth in the Arkle the other year, he caught my eye that day, 2 miles never looked his trip, so with the upping in distance this racing season and his spurt of growth i met have a little tickle :)
just the odd dabble here and there today :)
ASCOT 2:55
Frascati Park - won a novice hurdle at ascot last year which caught the eye... a wee wager e/w
Sophies Trophy - off a weight of 10-5 it has a squeak , 20/1 hmmm worth a e/w punt imho.....
WINCANTON 2:50
Requin - a small win bet
Maraafeq - a tempting e/w who met spring a surpise...
ASCOT 3:30
Piraya - a small win bet
Mahogany Blaze - i got 14"s with 365, solid each way claims imho....
good luck in the punting.... :)
SANDOWN 3:00 - totescoop6 Heroes Handicap Hurdle
i"m going to avoid the obvious form horses for this in my shortlist -
Kilcrea Kim 1st 11/2
Mister Hyde
Like A Hurricane
and back 2 each way outsiders
Numide 7th 33/1
County Zen 4th 25/1
SANDOWN 3:35 -
Eric"s Charm 1st 20/1
LINGFIELD 3:25
Distinctive Image
LINGFIELD 4:30
Mafeking
Audemar 2nd 6/1
Crazy football day.

was trying to gert some adivse on blonde..only to get more confused by this laying lark!
If man u win i win £50 from a outlay of £10...trying to work out what to do now as they are losing....well confusing

Bit late now, but when Utd went 1-0 up, I"d have put the lay bet in then. Small amount, to ensure you a profit.

Get Me Out Of Here
Good pick, imo
shame Tarkari has withdrawn, yep yep Rebel"s 2nd to TOCCA FERRO [keep a eye out for this one :)] was good form imho plus the race was over 2.5secs ish quicker than the fighting fifth won earlier by Peddlers Cross... tough race today but if Rebel reproduces this form he"ll have a great chance...
Get Me Out Of Here if Jonjo has him right could run this field ragged, big IF but Jonjo has a habit of picking up valuable handicaps :) and 12"s is rather juicy for a repeat of last year :)
Any fancies for Kelso ,noble heading off there in an hour.
Happy punting today people, off to look at the odds of Chezger taking down the BCPC team game today. ;D
I like FIULIN in the imperial cup.Looks on a decent mark to me ,will like the drier ground .Paddy Brennan a plus in the saddle, im on e/w at 20/1.
dont you think his track form is very bad.Lingfield for me is very much a track that suits or dosen"t.Same as wolverhampton and southwell. Not many horses win on all 2 let alone all 3.
class only comes into the race if the race is ran quickly.Thats why in the states class droppers win many races cause they are all ran fast.
oh well end of the acca.catch you later in the online champs I guess. But the way things have gone today Id better stay down the pub.I had defoe to score the first goal as well today.Spurs had 24 shots on goal missed the lot......
the wolves 520 monday is a cracker and the kind of race I like to bet in. You say you look at pace? Lets see what we both come up with.
you really need to look at pace.IMO after 25 years of betting on horses - pace is everything. The weight"s mean very little bar going up in grade which is important.Going up in grade though is all about pace. Each horse is handicapped by thinking time out of the gates and pack instinct and in most cases horses cant be trained to go against what they do in the wild. Most tracks are ran at a different speeds and most horses can run fast times if given the opportunity. The opportunity isn"t there often and thats our job to find out when.
what I do is :-
make sure the pace suits the horse and is in a grade it can win at.
make sure the horse suits the track.
make sure the horse likes the going.
on turf time the first race to get a going figure.
can the jockey pull it off?
is the trainer doing ok ?
I use times of each track for stiffness and speed. Many horses cant run at 45hph at Goodwood for instance but run well at wolves going 33ph.Its all in the form.
i got a tip yesterday for Light from mars, decent contact. The way im running just now ,wont be going in for much, plus its too early in the flat season for me.Thought i"d pass it on anyway
Backed just 2 this weekend, King of Eden at a nice price (look out for this one throughtout the season, Eric Alston thinks a bit of this one, was always going to improve this year) and took a chance on Nasri to no avail.

Yeah, got 12.75....definately one to watch.
I have taken a pop at Silver by Nature.
Would have got 11lbs more if handicap had taken into account latest win.
Not jumped the fences before - (obvious negative)
Ground (?)
But 17.5/1 on Betfair seems reasonable to me ...
Saver on Quinz
L
great race today, anyone on Ballabriggs ?
luvved the way the bald1-ng nipped away quick from ginger when he uttered ""bugger"" lmao

Noooooooooooooooorrrrrrrr
Silver By Nature was an Ante Post pick of mine at 100/1
Now look what you"ve gone and done. ;)
Some early nasty falls, with the worst possible outcomes. I didn"t really enjoy watching the race, especially when they raced past the two fences on the second circuit.
Not sure why, but very weird to watch.
Got a wee flutter on the Scottish Grand National.
$5 ew on Neptune Collonges @ 26/1 :D
FML
Nope and mrs backed the winner :(
FML
ul................ ew?
the only problem !! what should a horse price be? opinions differ and some have an idea and some don"t. Surely a horse thats going to win should be short. So if it a good price back it !!
Surely a horse thats going to win should be short. So if it a good price back it !!
think about Noble you might get it ???
We could go on and on - but betting on horses is like playing poker.Loads of incomplete information but above all the team holding the aces "the odds makers" can be cracked by using their misconceptions against them.Thats why I bet in Handicaps.
all i can say is sigh....
comes across as arrogant.
small punt on roderic o connor for a bit of interest, got a bit to find with frankl but i might get a run for my money
FRANKEL..Awesome.
Wish I"d been there.
Report please Noble.
Not strictly a Saturday but what are everyones bets for Chester/Punchestown?
Have to be on Fadhaa in the last IMO....will improve for the step up in trip and Hills loves a winner at Chester. Also on Blue Jack in the handicap sprint, i have heard a good word that he will not be out of the first 3...he has also won a listed race at the track last year.
As for the Chester cup, i think Mount Athos would be massively interesting if he had a better draw...also Red Cadeuax, although i don"t like backing hold up horses at Chester.
Oh and one more...El wasaami in the maiden EW...love backing Clive Brittains on their 2nd start...although has a live one to beat in Columbian.
Good luck everyone!
Couple of donks for the Victoria Cup calvary charge at Ascot...
ASCOT 3:25
Gouray Girl
Brae Hill
brae hill 2 good recent runs in the lincoln and the spring cup, dropping back a furlong wont be a problem and lee topliss claims a handy 5lbs.. gouray girl a lightly raced 4 year old who looked in need of a run on her debut at yarmouth, stepped up from 6f to 7f at the end of the 2010 season for the 1st time winning cosily at newbury, may have a tad more in hand...

Running Good
I play about 16 MTTS in a month (500 + runners) I cash about 4 times of them and run deep twice (out of the 4) and FT once (out of the 4) and for every 4 times I FT I will be in the top 3 once. So on that basis I run good once every four month or every 64 games, is that good or bad? On those stats if I was to play 16 MTTS a day I will run good every 4 days. You see players on TV who always seem to be running deep in tournaments but how many tournaments have they entered? For me "running good" is in the short term or another word for "got lucky more than once in a week"
Haven"t really bothered with the gee-gee"s this year tbh but was desperate for the loo on Thursday, while unfortunately getting a new bathroom fitted. Nipped down my local Coral shop and decided to make a donation as I was feeling guilty about using their convenience. Stuck a fiver E/W on Close To The Edge at Wolverhampton and it finished strongly as expected to win at 12/1 ;D

So with you tipping them aswell, i defiantly will be putting a line through them :D
Just reminded me of a wee dilemma there Noble ;D
Your on a horse galloping away at speed. On your right is a sharp dropoff and....on your left is an elephant travelling at the same speed as you. Directly in front of you is a kangaroo and your horse is unable to overtake it. Behind you is a lion chasing you.... What must you do to safely get out of the situation????
York 5.15
Will be too P****D to care

Chaninbar backed this morning - may go close if he jumps off but that is no certainty, he has previous of planting at the start
Cheltenham open meeting starts tomorrow;
3.30 Kells Belle
Did you get it E/W James? I had a fiver EW on Suburban Bay and took 33"s, looking very good in 2nd till it thumped the 2nd last and almost came to a stop lol FML
UL Grant - was on EW and had an EW double with Tanks For That, also backed semi colon in 2nd (loved the Henderson runners yesterday)
Sad story from France where Pascal Bary"s talented stable jockey Benjamin Boutin age 21 died after a horrible purler with four horses.

Super Friday at Newbury and a top class card;
Be interesting to see what Sprinter Sacre and Long Run do - really tempted to take them on with Nicholls and Wlash (great record in the races) but the odds on jollies may bolt up (so a watching brief)
Therefore will be getting stuck into the handicap hurdles;
1.15 Sire De Grugy
2.25 Global Power
Sprinter Sacre looked frightfully top class Tje when he won the Wayward Lad Novices Chase at Kempton, he should and can totally pi#s it [sorry] win today with ease, not a tempting price today for me though...

Al in all ok, but sadly I"d bet 4 races* with a weight reduced Jockey who won yesterday his 50th race. Guess he lost his weight allowance since today. Especially race 7.(73/10) and 10 (38/10) the horses needed a bit more jockeyship, bad luck. ( will show you both replays later if available)

i had to laugh when Jim McGrath said Lutine Bell would never get the ground, he got off to a bad start and Hughes pressed the button to late to finish 4th.. Admittedly he had traffic problems lol but Palace Moon won @25/1 and all his form is on good to firm, 2nd place Pabusar"s best form all on good , Macs Power goes on anything but never gets there :-X... Race ended Mr McGrath stays stum on the perceived ground conditions. hmmmmm straight different to the round maybe Jim?... ;D
Mince hosed up in the Coral Sprint, Bartolomeu looked like the winner till the line, i"d preferred him to win tbh :)

Another great FRANKEL performance. Simply superb !
he made another group1 race look like a maiden :)
What a horse, my Gramps who has seen a horse or two ever since it would seem from the dawn of time came round to watch the race.. Two furlongs out he sat in the comfy chair clapping with a massive grin, up to now he always made sure to tell me [more than once over the years] about Brigadier Gerard. the greatest horse he has ever seen. After the Lockinge he told me he has now changed his mind, ""bloody good horse that"" he said, i just burst out laughing, ""i never thought i"d see a horse get anywhere near as good as the Brigiadier, but i think i"ve just seen something better""..
Gramps knows a thing or two about the GG"s, believe me thats high praise from the old codger...QuoteHope now for CALIFORNIA MEMORY in tomorows Singapore Airlines International Cup.
Baden Baden will see tomorow Arc-Winner DANEDREAM"s 2012 debut.
good luck Achim, such good racing to watch plus the Preakness tonight as well :)
Bodemeister will run like ever on the top of the field. Not impossible that he will win it, but imo Ill have Another or Creative Cause will be the winner. Bet Kentucky Derby winner again.
Big disappointment, California Memory unplaced, missed totally the power of his final speed this time. Maybe I"d better heard to commentary. Said that CM dislike this race course.
3.45 Goodwood
No. 3 Michelangelo
Fortune nearly nicked that with a superb ride, Michelangelo met well be a proper group1 horse, he did well to make up 5or6 lengths to win narrowly, that hint of being able to quicken giving Expense Claim that much rope who i think is a good group2,3 sort of std makes Michelangelo look rather good [plus he"ll be better over flatter and more experience]
a interesting Gosden hotpot [again :)]
German 2000 Guineas, May 28th. Red Duke and Caspar Netscher want to challenge german horses.
Very competitive and interesting race.
Epsom is nearly here, the Oaks and the Derby look like they met produce some useful sorts this year.. Camelot is a obvious possible but the price isn"t very tempting :).. Could Bonfire win it? it looks like it was decent Dante this year, will an extra 2furlongs suit though being a son of Manduro?, [are you backing it Achim?] considering this was his debut run Bonfire could be a lot closer ability wise to Camelot than what the market suggests.. Bonfire to my eye looks like a top 10f performer but the extra 2furlongs maybe just stretching it so from a value angle i"ve had a wee sized win bet on Parish Hall, Bolger has PH in the Irish 2000 Guineas, basically following the same prep routine as he did with New Approach, 21+ is a good win punt on betfair imho and a place bet as well :)
Astrology is well worth a place bet, he moved well despite the bog at Chester so to my eye he will handle quicker ground.. As a 2year old he was entered in the Futurity Stakes and moved better than all the rest [Parish Hall included] but when McCabe asked him to pick up his tail waved around and he swerved left to the rail finishing up 3rd.. Astrology"s last race as a 2year old, O"Brien entered him in the Autumn Stakes at Newmarket and again he showed similar traits swerving to the rail...I"d put that down to the big wide open space of Newmarket and the Curragh and greenness, none of that was shown at Chester on his seasonal re-appearance in the Dee Stakes, Epsom"s tight turns and far less open track will suit him so i"ve had a small win bet and had a bit bigger place bet :)
so without the waffle...
Epsom Derby 2/6/2012
Astrology - win and placeParish Hall - win and a placeshame, this horse is seriously good
@noble Thanks for analysis.;)
IMO we"ll see one of the most thrilling German 2000 Guineas over the past years.
I"m totally sure that one of the german horses will win it. It"s not patriotism why I think so. Can"t believe that the performance of both british horses are good enough this time to to take it down.
Tai Chi was an excellent 2y and the aim was to prepare him for the french and maybe german derby. Now they scratched him and drop him in distance, which will give him a top chance, if he is at 100%. Trainer is a great guy, whole family are horsemen, had a lot of fun with him but sadly he"s seriously ill ( lung cancer) and wish with all of my heart that Tai Chi will win it. Fingers cross for you Werner!
Amarillo and Energizer are two top horses and imo both are in the finish. One dark horse I have pick up, it"s Pastorius. This horse scared me a bit and nobody should underestimate him. Result of last race didnt show his class because he didnt found a passage last furlong. This horse is really interesting and gain any attention for all your bets.
Good luck for your picks today.

German 1000 Guineas next sunday and Lady of Budysin will be the longshot of the race. 18/1!?! It"s exactly that what you wrote above. Compare performances and imo odds are unreal. Guess it"s a good pick for fixed odds W/P. More than Money back if she runs 3rd. British Electrelane is favourite.
German press media like RP in UK recommend Dessau (5/1), Survey (4/1) is 2nd favourite behind Electrelane (13/5). *()fixed odds today

German press media like RP in UK recommend Dessau (5/1), Survey (4/1) is 2nd favourite behind Electrelane (13/5). *()fixed odds today
Survey is a nice price, i don"t think form wise there is to much of a gap between her and Electrelane :) looking through the card Cherry Danon looks interesting to out of Rock of Gibraltar, right distance, his off spring progress well, tackling good ground for the 1st time i"d guess he"ll improve past Dessau...
Good luck with your punt Achim , ill have my fingers crossed for you sir.......
German AMARON will run in today french derby. Last performance was more than acceptable. Good enough not to neglect him in any combined bets I guess. Tote (400/10)
Ground preferences made the difference today. ELECTRELANE wins the german 1000 Guineas sh to Cherry Danon and 5 to 3rd Waldtraut. 4th Lady of Budysin. Survey 5th.
Cologne R3: Ninas Rainbow (can"t resist fixed odds 50/10)

What an amazing finish and Terry Hellier made it with a great jockeyship. He deserve it absolutely. Top jockey in germany for so many years, also trainer Mario Hofer. Both wins the derby first time.

CAVALRYMAN 4/1 seems the horse to beat in this race, but really interesting odds are on LOST IN THE MOMENT 25/1. Seems to be a bit underestimated today. Would be perfect to see a bit rain for IBICENCO 8/1 to have soft ground.

Guess there is a bit discord tonight at O"Brien table. This race and missed Triple Crown for CAMELOT is carelessness of young rider Joseph O"Brien. Second best horse wins the St. Leger at Doncaster. Great victory for Godolphin and also a great jockeyship of M. Barzelona with ENCKE.

On the turf its yet to get going for me to get involved with serious stakes but after being at the races yesterday [bloody windy] i"ve lumped a bit on Hot Snap for the 1000 Guineas, its hard to see anything thats far superior at this stage, Certify was a proper Group1 2yo which was backed up by the times she recorded plus she has a good turn of foot [sign of class imho]
K Fallon got one ride at Doncaster in the 8.15 Estemaala

CHESTER [tomorrow 9th May]
5:00 - Tres Coronas 7/1+ is ok, good run lto behind Icebuster, will run his race no matter what the going tomorrow.
John Biscuit 12/1+ is ok, 7th and 4 lengths behind Area Fifty One lto at Epsom, this form will get underestimated.
one for Saturday if she gets in Betfred Victoria Cup at Ascot - Tartiflette [good enough ability wise to be group class, in the past she has tended to idle when getting her head in front but the penny has dropped in her last 2 races..]
So the 3.50 is where we make our money ;)
Dawn Approach confirmed my doubts abouts his stamina. Pulled to much at the beginning so the jockey let him go. May be the reason of his result today. Guess best distance seems to be max 1m 2f. My pick made me happy, bet him 9/1, so good profit. After the replay of the race I wish a bit more confidence by Jamie Spencer. But all in all the connections around Chopin must be proudfull and I"m sure they"ve bought a real good horse.

;D Horseracing always a riddle. Saw Nymphea the 3rd german horse really late, so 3 winning bets on place and a small profit at the end. Can"t remember a british race card with 3 german horses who finished 1-2. 4 weeks til german derby. Still a riddle but I have a dark favourite. ;)

Only 7 horses in the field. One of them #3 german JEANIE JOHNSTON . Racing Post announced (20/1) what imo a huge underestimation. This race could be a good Dubai prep race for favourite #2 FATTSOTA (7/4). Can"t ignore the performance last february at Meydan behind Kassiano, also Longchamp last month. The horse to beat. Another horse for 1-2-3 is LIVIA"s Dream. Last time at Lingfield 2nd and today with weight advantage to 4th BANOFEE.
Good value for #3 so I"ll bet the german filly and hope for her speed last 2 furlongs.
My pick: JEANIE JOHNSTON - FATTSOTA - LIVIA"s DREAM

Sea The Moon top rated european horse now. (125)
what do you reckon to that Achim? Myself i find it hard to go along with when all the handicappers have in way of european collateral form is with the fifth, Wild Chief. Sea The Moon put up a great performance but in terms of giving a rating based on past german derbies i"d rate the winner at 121 with a ? for now, i have to make it the best Deutsches derby win by far with only Shirocco anywhere near... with a view to the forthcoming arc i"d also be wary of Sea The Moon"s habit of hanging left, i"m still unsure as to whether Soumillon deliberately went to the near side rail or the horse went that way and he went along with it so he"d keep momentum....
as for the football..Germany 7 Brazil 1omg you surely weren"t expecting that,what a RESULT (http://www.freesmileys.org/custom/image/cyan%5E_%5Egeorgia%5E_%5E2%5E_%5E1%5E_%5EEngland are rubbish%5E_%5E.gif) (http://www.freesmileys.org/custom)
GER-BRA, what should I day? It was a win without any importance if they lose the final. Imo it was an unreal result, because the main danger was"nt the german team, it was the self-imposed pressure and helplessness to handle it. Like to see Argentina in final, guess it"s easier to play. No prob if Netherland will win the World Cup, they definitively deserve it too. Great football nation.

i"m more than willing to risk 5points against Roseburg who has only won a weak 0-100 5runner cls2 h/c, it was done in a good time but todays race he faces totally different ground, more competition and a 8lbs hike from the handicapper.. if this wasn"t trained by Cumani then it"d be 10/1+..
Rainbow Rock has only won a cls5 hc at Beverley!!!! yet is 2nd fav in the market as i write ???
Madeed is yet to race over 10f...
Astronereus has only won a 10f maiden..
Arable won a cls5 2k hc over a mile lto......
One mad mad market imho......
Awful day for me yesterday. One odds on winner and a third place. Didn"t see any of the racing, but The New Forest Show was a huge success, so not all bad.
Just looking at todays card (and the weather) :)
LOL, yeah, today is a good day.
Would have been better if Muteela had come through in the last.
Not sure about the last now. Seems to have been a bit of a run on Fire Fighting, from 12-1 into 4-1.
Possibly one of those races whereby you just have to watch the market ?

having doubled the stake on Seeking Magic and Ninjago, the profit today was +19 points thanks to Double Bluff and Intrinsic..
so that makes the festival points total a grand total of +53.6 points
donkey fred total overall at +254.68 points
nice to see Wayne having a good day, don"t fritter those profits sir :)
Achim and Leigh a very well done, the ebor meeting is the next one to look forward to....
the best 2nd of the week for myself has to be Extortionist, having done some rough guesstimate maths on the ground he lost having angled across the track over a furlong from the 2f to the 1f point [and took into account Take Cover]
Extortionist gave TC 3 to 5 metres best guesstimates, don"t be surprised if they meet again that placings are reversed in similar conditions...
others to note from today for the future were Eastern Belle and Second Step....
You should put a website together and sell these tips ;)
lol does anyone follow my tips on here? :)
i wanted to put up a video with youtube but it doesn"t work? does it no longer work on APAT?
Just looked at the write ups from the Betting Emporium that Neil Channing does. (They release them on the site once the meet is over to everyone). Their tips were 240pts down for the week. (I think I"ve read that correctly).
I think they were well up on their picks previously though, so just a bit of variance. ;D
It gets better, I also had Barnet Fair at 8/1 and Outback Traveller at 7/2 but then my mug betting kicked in and gave some of it back. Still up on the week which is grate after the last 2 days
Noble1 had a good day too, he can teach me not to mug bet. ;)
Where is his limit?
SOMMERABEND will run in todays Gr.1 Prix Maurice de Gheest. Hope for a good run. E/W 11/1
Hoppegarten, Gr.1 Grosser Preis von Berlin
OPEN YOUR HEART, very good performance behind Lucky Lion and Sea The Moon in german Derby. Top jockey Mirco Demuro will ride the colt, so it"s my bet 8/1 today against 2013 Derby Winner Lucky Speed and Sirius. Earl of Tinsdal will complete my combined bets.
Good luck all!

Thanks, good luck to you 2! FLINTSHIRE seems to be an underestimated horse and odds are pretty interesting. Last race the jockey didnt demanded to much. Andre Fabre record trainer in this race and always good enough to bring a dark horse in top performance. So 330/10 are value I can"t resist. Place should pay also good money. Added IVANHOWE into my exacta, now 5 combined. Horse worked very well, nothing is impossible this sunday. ;)

Three horses have caught my eye - Annacotty, The Druids Nephew and Barrakilla.
The Druids Nephew heads the market narrowly from the sponsor owned ""its a plot"" Ned Stark :) TDN has a live chance if he reproduces anything like his run back in November at Cheltenham when he chased home Sam Winner.
Annacotty won at Cheltenham in the Freebets.com Handicap Chase back in January over 21f. He didn't look the likely winner jumping the last in second place plus he was forced to switch around the leader as he powered up the hill. I think the extra 4 furlongs will suit and the extra £50,000 he gets from Freebets if he wins at this years festival is a added incentive for the Keighley team to have him spot on to boost the owners bank balance.
Barrakilla is a powerfully built horse and a step up to this trip may bring plenty of improvement. He has to make the final cut though so if he"s still in come nearer the day my wallet will be opened up :)

1.30 - Supreme Novices
Don"t fancy anything that much at the odds on offer, i"ll pass and watch.
2.05 - Arkle Trophy
One stick to beat the favourite with and that gives the bookies hope that Un De Sceaux gets beat is his lack of experience of never having ran at Cheltenham. Also 16 of the last 17 Arkle winners have never fallen or unseated in a chase and Un De Sceaux is the only faller in a chase in this years line up. Now those two stats are enough for me to have a little nibble on Vibrato Valtat.

Sugar Boy is a danger given Gosden"s record but that wasn"t with Godolphin horses :) Stoutey knows the street cry breed and he made his debut [Capel Path] at Newmarket with a typical teaching the ropes ride held up. Next run teach from the front, 3rd run he knows his job and beats a nice Gosden horse who wins cosily next time out. Ryan Moore now aboard, say no more!!!
Sandown 3.50 - Gold Cup Chase
Hadrian"s Approach - 14/1 with WH and a couple of others.. 15.5 on Betfair 4.5 to be placed - 1point win 2point place on BF
reasoning/logic
Tricky race to pick apart but what swung it for me given conditions today was Hadrian"s Approach run at Newbury last year when only beaten a short head by Unioniste with Same Difference behind, HA made three mistakes in the straight at Newbury and was only beaten a short head and he had plenty left in the tank.
He has good stamina, he jumps, gallops and stays. He also has plenty of class being by High Chaparral and looks a good win-place bet imho. Sandown should suit him today, finished 5th in this race last year on good dround as a 6year old, had a break this year before Cheltenham which suggests to me that Henderson had this race as the initial target in mind....
The fitting of cheek pieces for the 2nd time might be a plus, focus in the later stages of a race can sometimes come at the cost of keenness in the early part when a horse is fitted with cheekpieces, it might make him a bit more alert in the early part of the race, but that"s no bad thing for this horse imho... I"d be surprised anyhows that Henderson hasn"t schooled him with them on,
this plus the fact i think NH has had this race in mind for HA was another tick in the box.. :)
Geraghty on board isn"t a negative either lol............

My Win/Place bets today: Epsom Derby: Rogue Runner 50/1 - Belmont Park, Manhattan Stakes: Magic Artist 13/1
good luck Achim, Rogue Runner is interesting as the trainer has to be respected for his record over the years. Mr Wohler knows his onions and Rogue Runner may well outrun his odds. Rogue has a nice dosage profile more in line for a potential Derby contender than Golden Horn. I find it puzzling how some pedigree experts question Golden Horn on his dosage profile having seen what Sea the Stars and Ouija Board did, bizarre dosage blinkers :)
I like the look of Shamel Wind too, EW for me
Gone with Able Friend in the first with Sky (money back if lose) with a little bit on Night of Thunder with Paddy (money back if 2nd or 3rd)

After reading your last post my initial thoughts are;
1. Don"t worry about your % profit-it"s already excellent.
2. Whatever your stake per point is you must increase it.
3. Open other accounts with as many bookmakers as possible in order to obtain the best odds
& be able to get your bets on when they start closing your accounts.
4. I must start betting on your selections & not just reading after time!
Good luck & keep up the good studying. Personally I tend to keep to maidens/2 year olds (less form!)

Cliffs has the gears and campaign wise he was always the main Derby horse in the O'Brien team.
Crack seems the opposite to my eye, less gears but more stamina.
of a others -
Eminent lacks gears based on his 2000 guineas run and I question his stamina (on pedigree)
Permian can run a big race if my two fail to deliver but he's exposed now and I can't see him improving to much on what he's achieved lately.
Venice Beach was my biggest head scratcher but I finally discounted with the view he'll get better with a bit more experience.

Some impressive performances today, but at the same time nothing that wasn't expected from the quality on show.
I think you had it right, not really a punters day.

steady eddie so far, i'll cross my fingers for a change of gear lol.
My GG stats used to be legendary (if I do say so myself) when I used to be a member there (2005-2009). Since we've moved that little bit further away, dropped the membership and haven't kept up with the spreadsheet.
Did look into renewing last year, but never got round to it. I still think it's fantastic value for money to be a member at Goodwood (beats most sporting season tickets for sure).
I might have to find some time to update the data and make some selections :)

I have had probably the worst weekend ever for betting, did not get 1 winner in gods knows how many bets. The one that sums up my weekend was the 3.15 at Stratord
I have decided that gambling is a mugs game and I am a big mug so that's it for me no more gambling.

lol i thought AOB would set up a strongly run race, but just in case it wasn't to turn out to plan then Harry would take advantage.
Hence a insurance bet lol, AOB and Moore won't be happy bunnies.
Apologies on the John Smith Cup, I was on Ballet but didn't put it up.
Great racing though, Enable doing the Oaks double was a brilliant moment as well.
High Wells - don't back him again Wayne untill they up him in trip :)]
I was on the Tin Man so that's why he didn't win
Harry was Impressive

Yep now we know he gets soft going as well, i'd take him to the breeders cup next.

Don't like anything today, Western Hymm has been a fav of mine so my go EW, Mutaaqeb in the first at Donny then Al Hajar in the next. Then see how the day go's but if the first 2 don't go in then probably will leave it at that.

Ok here is the Kronstdat cast iron plunger of the week: Nakeeta in the Melbourne Cup next Tuesday. 25/1 currently ante post, this Ebor winner has a cracking chance to be the first British horse to win this big event. It might be worth waiting till the draw is made before slapping the money down. Anything higher than 15 is severely disadvantaged in this race.
(If it loses this tip was made by John Murray).

not the best draw although still has place possibilities.
I like four lol so in order -
MARMELO - great prep race in Caulfield Cup coming home well finishing 6th and Bowman booked to ride and the draw doesn't put me off given his style of running.
ALMANDIN - won last year and the only slight negative is that Frankie rides (not at his best in australia imo but the horse might negate that lol)
WALL OF FIRE - had a second to Lord Fandango who then ran well in the CC, nicely weighted.
AMELIE'S STAR - ran well two starts back and flopped in the CC, good trainer and she is bred for this trip imo. My sort of dabble lol.

Going to give todays racing a miss and save what i'd bet today for next weeks National.
For the Grand National I can't see much value in the class horses so i've focused on 3m4f+ form. Four out of a shortlist of 12 took my eye so I've had some ante post nibbles.

sticking with my Silver Bowl pick and the eyecatcher I put in the thread..
low and middle draw and both have a turn of foot which isn't suited to Haydock in big fields. (positive in my book)
Crack on won with a bit in hand and Simpson met a wall of horses on the rail so hopefully on a straight mile one of them will burst through today.

not often Gosden runs two horses in this race, all his last five winners of this were his sole entry plus all five in there debut race [first time out] ran over 7f or 8f [if over a mile they all won.. not a huge sample but it is a trait/pattern he has shown in other similar races... saying that i marginally prefer Beckett's filly :)
