Overlay at the G in today"s £100 er, unconditional Guarentee of £5k 34 runners and a few re entries see an overlay of about £1200.

Table ok got David3103 to my left so stealing not going to be easy also a calling station to his right so I need some hands decent equity.

Steady start up to 40 k at tea break, a few 3 bets in position, with c bets getting through and if it got to showdown was usually in front.

After the break chipped down to 30k so was in the 20/30 big blind mode which is no mans land, need to be careful.

I raise to 2k2 with 88, get jammed all in by a 12 big blind stack with 33, I call, 3 on the flop sees me down to 10 bigs.

Limp AA from utg +1, Dave gives me a wry look from mid position and folds, get a little bit from the big blind who has hit his 9 on a jack high flop but my betting was ridiculous and he worked out he must be beat, still got more than if I just jammed, up to 15 bigs now, next hand KK, card rack or what, this time I just jam, hoping to get called by a small pair, won the blinds and antes, no worries back to 18 k which is just under 20 bigs.

Horror hand next ( not for me ul Dave was urgh), AK suited for me I just push 17 bigs, Dave calls, cards on there backs AK v 10 10, flop QJQ turn brick river J, an ugly counterfeit for Dave, salvation for me.

We reach the final table with between 20/30 bigs everyone agrees we will all get our buy in back and play for the rest.

A few shortstacks bust and we are on the bubble, we had one massive chip leader and all the rest were of us were equal, he offered to take first prize and the rest of us would get £600 which was ok with me, but we had one detractor who declined indicating he had been staked in by a backer and his backer won"t accept any deals.

utg min raises I look down at 99, I jam for 17 bigs. He calls A5 is shown, my 99 holds and we have made £300 minimum, the guy who refuses the deal goes out next losing a flip 77 v AK, he gets £300, so he loses £300 by not agreeing to the deal, he was quite apologetic about the deal but he was under the instruction of his backer so fair enough.

I raise AJ suited from the button big blind jams,  it"s 11 bigs, I call he has JJ which holds and am now down to 12 bigs which I jam next hand with AQ, and am looked up by JJ again, I don"t hit so finish in 4th for £500, Dave and myself have 10% of each other in these so I dropped the £50 at the cash table for him and also give my brother 10% so i will ship his £50 today.

Not going to moan about losing flips as I got very lucky v Dave earlier,  it"s poker and we have to get lucky and unlucky and accept what happens.

Treat myself yesterday to the new I pad, so this will pay for that, we"ll in 6 months as it was a buy now pay later jobbie.

This week we have the 30/30 £2k gtee on Tuesday and Galas bi monthly £150 on Saturday which I may play, might try and sat in on Monday night, will decide on the day, thanks for reading, run good, be lucky stay healthy.

Swinging, (reader count goes up, lol) ok not that kind although the Middlesbrough swingers club is pretty active on a TV show apparently.

Its just the poker variety unfortunately, Tuesdays Game at G was pretty uneventful for me, after the first hand i knew i should not have bothered, i 3 bet AQ from mid position get flatted by some fish in the big blind  ::) ::) ::).

The flop is A high bet half pot, bb calls turn is a 7, i bet 50% of pot, get called and pay off the two pair on the river big blind has A7, Nh Dave, awful call by me tbh, but it is what it is.

I get moved tables and lose the rest of my stack with an open ended straight, and straight flush draw flush which didnt get there.

I added the extra $8k on which was optimistic to say the least as its only a 20 min clock after the break and blinds at 150/300/25 need to get lucky which i didnt, home buy 10:30.

Managed a 3rd on Full tilt for $290 losing a chip lead pot with AA V J9 in  a 3 pot, win this hand and am massive chip leader with $650 up top, frustrating to say the least.

The last few days have been pretty barren with only 1 cash in about 8 tourneys so down a few hundred for the month, meh.

Lol hand from a Stars tourney last night

I got lucky obviously against the AA but would of had 255k and a decent shot of $3k5, not so much a bad beat but again a really deep run done by a premium hand which seems to be happening a fair bit lately oh well, cant dwell on it.

The rest goes in next hand to same villain AK V AA mbn.

Playing Galas £150 tomorrow providing the cold which seems to be rearing its ugly head doesnt materialise, swopped a bit with Dave for his trip to Nottingham Gl Sir, and my brother gets his usual !0%.

Just realised been married 28 years tomorrow so should take Susan out but this weather is no good for Ms, within 5 minutes of being in the heat she is dead on her feet so will play that by ear.

Not much to report this week, last weeks £150 at Gala was pretty Uneventful, lost most of my chips in a 3 bet pot blind v blind me AQ v villains AJ, j on the flop but had a gutshot which missed, eventually shove over a limper with 9 10 hearts hoping for at least live cards, unfortunately they were both undercards to the JJ of the limping villain, didn"t bink and was an early night for me.

Went to see Sean Locke on Tuesday night instead of the poker, actually started to drive towards the G before realising I wasn"t heading there that night so diverted my way back to the town centre, highly recommend Sean Locke if you get the chance to see him.

Volume online poor and losing when I am playing, had 2 or 3 days of constantly running into the top of people"s ranges, annoying but can"t do anything about it.

Played Galas £40 on Friday, made the final table but couldn"t convert it into a decent cash got my entrance fee back when I jammed 13 bigs blind v blind j7 v k4, flop j7k QQ turn and river gg me.

Back from the G,s 15/15 tonight done a chop for £200 each, the chip leader took a bit more, all had around 90k, blinds were 5k/10k, standard shove fest at this stage happy with £200.

Had one pocket pair all night, and only had 3 hands which went to showdown,  once against Pokerpops were I thought I was behind but actually won the pot, was pretty poor play by me tbh but I will take it, the second was a blind v blind shove K4 me v A9 (5 bigs), I managed to bink the king,  and AK v QQ again managed to bink the Ace, all fairly standard spots. The rest of the chips were picked up by just jamming over the serial limpers when blinds were big and with the antes and the dead money was very profitable, luckily the limpers assume I have AA or KK every time so it"s definitely +ev to shove fairly light. Luckily the players left at the table were limp folding a lot and I chipped up quite nicely for the final table, the final table   Plays really shallow at the G and the average is usually around 20 bigs, around 40 minutes in we have made the money and we sorted out the deal.

The legend that is Betty had a little dig saying " At least I don"t go all in with K4 especially not suited, she only plays good cards", this was in response to my blind v blind shove as described above, bless her.

Currently watching Breaking Bad on Netflix, started watching this a few years ago when it first came out then missed a few seasons so decided to watch it from Season One, its one of those just one more episode shows and am currently onto Season 5 Episode 4, highly recommend it if you have a spare 60 hours, wide awake now so probs watch one after posting this.

Good start to August, pretty annoyed to miss Cardiff so will take winning Galas £40 freezeout for £640 as a decent consolation, chopped it 50/50 but I had 20k more so I get the maximum league points and with final tabling 3 of the last 4 weeks could make a belated run at the league, bubbled the other one as well.

Highlight was 3 betting 2 limpers with 57 suited on the button and getting paid in full by both on a 774 flop, I am such a fish.

Got a look of bemusement when I called a 10 big blind shove with A9, he had 10 10 and he started moaning before the community cards were dealt, I had loads of chips and they looked pretty, hearts, amazed people moan when they are a 70/30 favourite, I didn"t bink, couldn"t be bothered explaining my thought process, I thought it was pretty standard tbh, hey ho.

Off to check mileage to Bolton for the Gukpt , see how Sundays game goes first.

Party weekend first though, friends 50th tonight and on Sunday mams birthday and a leaving party for my Niece who is off to Australia to work for a year, not one bit jealous.

August run good live continues with a 4 way chop at the G casino (£185).

I got there for the start of the 2cd level and by the break had 25k so was in decent shape for the turbo action after the break, blind levels now 15 minutes and with the serial tankers we only see about 6/7 hands per level.

try to chip up by stealing in position with semi decent stuff, but alas c bets get called and totally missing flop doesn"t help me accumulate chips and am down to 12 bigs at 500/1k level.

Get a fortunate treble up with j7, yes I know I am a fish but had my reasons to stack off with this hand, was miles behind v QQ and A6, I some how made a straight and was comfortable again, queens had limped utg , young guy in small blind has been jamming any 2 and I thought utg was weak and young guy was at it, and J7 could be ahead of his range, very marginal but wanted to get a double up or get home.

Reach the final table with about 30 bigs and win another crucial hand with AQ v QQ , turned  the nut straight, it was a standard spot plus the villain had cracked my QQ early on when he called my 1k raise after 9 limpers with k6 suited, variance can sometimes be your friend, he wasn"t happy but hey ho I will take it.

Blinds are now massive and every one is shallow except chip leader who has about 30 bigs, she will take second place cash £225, and the rest of us get £185 which I am happy to accept.

Nice to see Martin make the final table in Cardiff, well played sir, congrats on your 4th place finish, great performance.

Had a break from online poker for a few days, I did offer a cashout proposal in my current stake but everyone preferred to let it carry on so will go with the majority on that one, will be back at it from today hope to take some of the live run good back to the virtual felt and stop the losing streak.

Next game is probably Tuesdays £2k gtee at G or I may play a sat for the Gukpt at Bolton will decide what to do on Tuesday, may use the G game as a sat and if I do get a cash use that for Bolton, this is also dependant on getting Susan looked after so will have to ponder that one.

Slight hiccup last night in my quest for 3 final tables on the trot, had 18k at the break and was feeling pretty good decided to buy the extra 8k at the break so was in decent shape for the next few levels.

As is the  norm after the break no cards of note so I 3 bet 54 suited on the button at 300/600, usual 3 limpers, narrowed the field down, not.

the flop was 5 high, l lead out get flatted by 2 people , the turn was a king also bringing in a flush daw, the action goes daft before it reaches me and I have to fold , flush draw gets there versus KQ.

l have 15 bigs left, utg shoves 6 bigs, this guy never misses a flop, ok player but one of the luckiest I have ever seen, small blind calls I look down at JJ, I reisolate but get insta shoved by small blind, A6 utg, QQ small blind and me JJ, sigh, of course A6 hits 2 pair, never in doubt, I leave the table and go and join the cash table, bit early to go home, mistake.

I buy in for £60 and quickly get to £100, then aggro guy joins table rich splashy knows what he his doing plays very loose aggro.

l lose most of my stack when I hit 2 pair on the flop with AK and loose guy eventually gets there with Q3, the third 3 hitting the river, he did have a gutshot on the 10 turn nut obviously betting £25 wasn"t enough to get him off it.

My next £30 disappears when I hit top pair with KJ, again a straight hits the river but villain has only £5.25 after she has called to get the straight so I pay her off, yawn.

The final £30 goes when I just go for the flip when splashy guy opens for £6, I shove with 55, double or go, he calls with Q10, flop QQ10, mbn, lol.

I  decide to leave at about 1 pm, pretty standard cash table for me that one.
It"s been a relatively decent few weeks so not a big deal.

I have decided to take a shot at Gukpt Bolton this week, will be playing Thursday day 1, if your not in it you can"t win it so why not, let"s hope for a bit if run good in that one.

Run good, be lucky stay healthy.

End level 4 18kish, 3 bet AJ from big blind ace on flop, villain jammed river, paired board and flush out there I wimped out.

Raise AJ from button flatted by 44, lead out on an ace high flop, sb calls, he hits his set on turn lost an extra 1k, board was straights, flushy.

John Eames 2 to my left, nice guy, next few levels will determine what happens

Going into last level 16k, moved to a very passive table got a few light shoves through over limpers, need at least 1 or 2 doubles though.

Lowlights, turning 2cnd nut flush, paid him off.

AJ v j9, he flops straight, I have 2 pair on the river.

Card rush please or 2 cards which give me a couple of doubles, been fun though, could be my most expensive fish and chip meal, which was vey pleasant.

just back from Bolton, head buzzing so a quick report on the last level.

blinds are 800/400/100 I have 16 bigs 23 players left, playing to 18 or the end of this level, no spots for a bit, sb limps into my bb, I have already shoved twice in the last level so I give it a minutes thought, I look down at 72 off, i check, flopQKK, could rep here she has checked decide not too, turn A, she min bets, weakness I think but I let it go, she shows KK for quad kings, glad I had nothing there then.

Utg I look down at A 10, good enough, ship it,14k, get flatted from a 30k stack with 44, next guy tanks for ages eventually folds (says 10 10) , he thinks the guy with 44 is very strong because he has left only 14k behind, fair enough, gets to big blind who is now worried about the flatter and the guy who has tanked for ages, he open folds AJ, glad he folds but obviously one of my outs has gone, flop no help, turn the ace from space, (apparently the case ace, old guy had folded the other ace), being results orientated disappointed that the tens folded there as it would of been a full treble up but happy to get to 30k.

I am still looking to increase stack when I look down at 10 10, utg has limped, I 3 bet with a view to getting it in, I bet a bit bigger than normal and made a point of moving the rest of my chips closer to the line as the others were folding, utg tanks for a while and eventually folds.

This table was like the G on a Sunday very surprising in a £500 comp.

I will be returning on Saturday with 28k2, below average but with a stack which can cause a bit of damage and who knows win a couple of hands be back in the mix.

There was only 1 hand which I wasn"t sure on and maybe should of folded I had raised mid position 22, at 300/600 and got jammed on by an 8 bb stack, obviously flipping at best I did call, he had 77 and it held.

I asked John Eames what he would of done in the same spot and he said it depends how he felt at the time, either or, I still had a decent stack after the call but was a bit marginal.

Overall I had some my fair share of decent cards so can"t complain about being totally card dead, what I can have a small moan about is a few outdraws when I was 70/30 favourite, frustrating but we have to accept it as part of the game and not let it affect our play.

Rambled on enough now, will continue this on Saturday and hopefully Sunday. thanks for reading.
