hi is there any players in the lincolnshire area who are interested in playing in some local tournaments im in the process of setting up,looking at doing a good structure like the apat(which i`d love to play in and have tried many times to get ticket but keep missing out)so thought until i get lucky enough to get a ticket i`ll host my own tournaments.it will all be properly set up with a good structure i.e 10000 or 15000 chips blinds on 30min to 40mins level around 50 to 100 players we have all the equipment and also have several venues lined up in the s****horpe area.and once feed back comes in we`ll be looking at the entry fee and doing it at at price that attracts many people ie £50 event plus register fee.

so i would like to hear back some views on this please and if there are any players interested or in this area.and i can soon come back with internet site details for more info about these tournaments im going to be doing..

any ideas towards it aswell would be listened to,i.e we are looking at prizes during the tournament for worst bad beat of day 1st player out gets consolation prize etc

many thanks
scott

I think most people know which particular town in lincolnshire is being referred to here. good modding. try putting that north london football team that wear red in.

One piece of feedback would be to question the legality of this. It appears you are planning on running a poker tourney for 50-100 players (so its not going to be a home game) and charging juice. Do you not need licenced venues for this? i"m not too savvy on the gambling laws, but do know the limits for pubs and private clubs.

My question would be "Do you have permission?" or I suppose its "Do you need permission?"

I play in tournaments that are set up by the London Meetup Group.  Have a look at their site for ideas and advice on how you might be able to set up your own group...  they play in various venues around London

You can also arrange all this through the meetup.com website.  Not sure how easy it is to do, I just attend the tournaments, some of the lovely lads in the group run it.  8)

ok thank you for some feed back i`ll have a look at the site and i understand abit abut the laws of holding poker events ive played at some before i think if you involve a charity into the event linked with it and donate some of the money that then allows you to do it?the venues would be licensed private members clubs like working mens clubs etc does this help any?
