Had to make an emergency trip to Swindon today and headed off this morning at the ungodly hour of 04.30. Because of the early start I decided to go motorway all the way. Hit the M6 and was flying, then the matrix sign said “M6 Closed – J16 – J15”. Feck now what way do I go . I looked at the sat nav and it said that the route was green, ie no holdups. FFS what do I believe the Highways Agency eejits or my sat nav.

I passed J19 and the next matrix sign was blank, Phew a rogue sign. Nope the next two matrix signs said “M6 Closed – J16 – J15”.. Oh for the love of God what the feck do I do the sat nav still displayed green. I made my decision……

I stayed on the road.

There was feck all on the road, bloody inefficient signs.

Then I hit J13 and and the matrix sign said “No Exit at M6 J8”, Oh FFS was that the M5. I racked the old grey cells and the brain was not reacting. Of course it was. Anyway sat nav was still fecking green. So I held my nose and continued on.

It was clear.

Memo to whoever operates those signs, switch them off when the panic is over FFS.

PS I still hate my Blackberry......

The wedding was very good (free bar was a bonus), didn't make the online game obv.... The League poker game wasn't great and I exited in 45th (small cash). We (North West) have yet to score a point, however it is a marathon and not a sprint  Grin

In Deeside all this week so I am stocking up on the delights of the staff restaurant in preparation for a bit of a tour of the Southern depots. Setting off for Swindon on Saturday for a relabeling of the racking, back in the depot Sunday for a while to make sure all is well. Then it is off to Enfield on Sunday. Now I have the afternoon and evening off so I might head into London….

Monday/Tuesday in Enfield Depot for voice picking implementation, Wednesday/Thursday back in Swindon for support when they do acceptance testing of the new software version.

Then it’s party time as I head for Coventry on the Friday……….

Swindon, Enfield - Southern? That's up North so far as I'm concerned. Definitely Midlands minimum.

Right - travelling "South" today, maybe crawling Chester last night wasn't a good idea.......

Preapration for Coventry is more of the same, following on from my exits in the League I have played 3 $4.50 180 games and in every one I have lost out KK v AA (and was viciously slowrolled in the last one). So my plan of playing Coventry sober has been abandoned  Roll Eyes

Last night was of course my weekly pilgrimage to the aquarium and I went with a specific game plan. In every pot reraise with abandon.

Stage 1
£13 buy in 20k in chips.

Stage 2
Re-enter in level 2 for £13   (4 2 off is not positive shoving material in a re-entry game)

Stage 3
Re-enter in level 3 for £13 (A K never wins a race)

Stage 4
Splash them around for a while (8 5 is the nuts)

Stage 5
End of play at closing time 6 players still in, I had the most chips - I won £42 on a chip count.

Stage 6
£39 staked £42 won – result.

This morning found out that I won £3 on the Euro lottery, so that’s two lots of £3 – bodes well for the national picks…….

Coventry was fun as usual, I made day 2 so that’s a result. These affairs are all about the people and as people go APAT has the best. It seems a mini tour is on the cards to Vilamoura in November. I have already booked my flight and accommodation (via the inimitable Curly). It has the makings of an epic trip.

Oh and watch out Vilamoura, I had 6 people from the aquarium express interest in travelling. Two definite’s who are booking their flights on Monday. The value is on its way.

National picks

Aquarium sweep

Synchronised
Junior

APAT sweep

Tatenen

Wee Man picks
Ballabriggs
Giles Cross
West End Rocker

Sooo will my 150/1 winner pay off (APAT rules) and will any of the six picks make the trip and more importantly make me (or Ger) money.
