Jozsef Erdos
Alex Polnarev
Simon Brooke
Darren Kirk

The ante/bring at 1k, limits at 4000/8000, Jozsef makes it 4k showing a 7s
Alex makes it 8k and Jozsef calls.

Qh for Jozsef and Kd for Alex gets checked by both.

Action cards of Jc for Jozsef and 7h for Alex and Jozsef leads out for 8k of his 9k remaining stack. Alex says "12k" and Jozsef calls.

Alex"s hand by 7th - 3c Kd 7h 4c 7d 2c 5h
Jozsef"s hand by 7th - Jc 7s 5d 4h 6s Qh Qs

Alex is down to 3k and Jozsef doubles up.

Next hand, Alex puts the rest in on 4th and doubles up to around 13k.

------

But the next hand sees Alex depart:

Alex"s best hand of Kd 6h Js 2s 5c
Not good enough against Darren"s best - 9h 4s 5s 3c Qd

Alex Polnarev finishes in 4th for £294.

In the medals and short stack Jozsef gets in all in showing 6d against Simon holding 10h

Runs out:

6d Kd 7c 8s Jh 9d on 6th for Jozsef holding 6h 7c 8s 9d Jh

10h 9c 5c 9s 3s 8h for Simon holding 3s 5c 8h 9s 10h

Simon draws 2c to play 2c 3s 5c 8h 9s

Jozsef draw 5s to play 6h 7c 8s 9d Jh

and Jozsef is our Bronze Medal winner...

Jozsef Erdos finishes in 3rd, he will take home £367 and a Bronze Medal.

#13 TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

As you might expect, play has been very cautious thus far in the team event.  We"re in level 7 with blinds at 300 / 600 (average 6666).

We"ve lost 9 players:-

Germano Cervetti - Italy
Warren Jones - Wales
Bechir Sahli - Holland
Nuno Paulino - Portugal
Gabriel Iemmito - Italy
Diego Siriano - Italy
Philip Henze - Germany
Eamonn Galvin - Ireland
Joachim Wallaert - Belgium

With the Irish and Germans losing a player a piece, it"s game on again for all of the leading positions.

With bets on every street, Simon shows Js 6s 8h
Darren has Ac 10h 2s

But when Simon gets Jh and Darren 5h on 5th street, Simon has a tongue in cheek chuckle at the "comedy run outs" that they are both getting and folds.

Disaster for Wales, losing Simon Hill and Mike Dobbs in quick succession.

A blow for Ireland also, with Ian Thompson out before the points.

Big hand:

Bets on every street see Simon showing 7c Js 9s 2h
Darren has 4c Ks 9h Jh

After a short think, Simon calls the river and Darren shows Ad 2d 8d

Simon mucks and Darren takes a pot of around 100k.

#13 TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Further bad news for Ireland in the MTT, with captain Frank Bailie exiting in 22nd place.

England lost their first player when Paresh Doshi got knocked out in 23rd.

We have 21 remaining and they are currently on a 15 minute break.  Things will liven up significantly as we approach the points for the top 18.

It isn"t many hands before the "raising war" ends up with Simon all in showing 2s and Darren making the call with 7c

Simon is holding 3h 4c
Darren is holding 4s Ac

But, by 7th street, Simon has [Kc 2d] Jd 3h 4c 2s 7d
Darren has [4s 7c] Ac 3d 4h 5s 6h

And it is all over!

Simon Brook finishes in 2nd place and wins £563 and a Silver Medal. Well played to him.

From 25 March 2016

Darren Kirk is our winner! He receives £762, a Gold Medal & a WCOAP Bracelet. Very well played to him.
