Welcome one and all.... it's that time again when APAT invite team entries for the UK Team Championship, this Season to be played at the Grosvenor Casino, Blackpool over the weekend of Friday 2nd February 2018, with a full schedule of events as follows (all events include £7 reg fee) :

Feb 2, Fri 18:00 PLO £40
Feb 2, Fri 20:00 NLHE £40

Feb 3, Sat 14:30 Main Event: UK Team Championship (NLHE) Day 1 £82
Feb 3, Sat 20:00 NLHE £40

Feb 4, Sun 12:00 Main Event: UK Team Championship (NLHE) Day 2
Feb 4, Sun 13:00 Mix Max £40
Feb 4, Sun 16:00 PLO8 £40

ALL Side Events are open to any poker player, whether playing in the UK Team Championship or not.

Interested Poker clubs, groups, forums, societies, leagues and communities etc need to register their interest in entering a team by the closing date Friday 6th October 2017, by sending a PM on APAT website to myself via HERE or via Facebook Messenger HERE and providing the following details:

Team Name

Team Captain poc - name, email address/mobile number/Facebook contact

Links to group/team associated Website/Facebook/Twitter/Forum etc

Successful teams will be confirmed via the APAT Website on Sunday 8th October.

HOW TO GUARANTEE A TEAM PLACE...

Teams also have the opportunity to GUARANTEE A TEAM ENTRY into the UK Team Championship via The Online Premier League that starts on Sunday 3rd September and runs every Sunday for 4 weeks until the final event on Sunday 24th September - teams of 3 (min) or 4 (max) will compete where in addition to the prize fund, the top 3 teams will be GUARANTEED AN INVITE to the UK Team Championship in Blackpool (and hence, pick a further 4 or 5 players to join them...).

Full details HERE

UK TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Teams with 8 players each will compete for both a team and an individual prize pool in the UK Team Championship, which will be run as an MTT with a buyin of £75+£7 per player.

Entry is therefore £82 per player and this will be required to be paid via an Online Holding Tank by INDIVIDUALS - co-ordinated between myself and all Team Captains - each team member will therefore need to have a Grosvenor Poker online account to enable them to register online to play in the UK Team Championship.

The total prizepool of £75 per player will be paid out on a 50/50 basis to the top 3 teams and the top 18 (tbc) individual players from the MTT.

The top 120 (tbc) players in the MTT will score points for their team with 1st = 120 pts down to 120th = 1 pt.

Teams are to wear their own matching colour team shirts for both days of the event - if desired, EMBROIDERED POLO SHIRTS OR T-SHIRTS are available from APAT at a subsidised cost of £15 per shirt (reduced from £18).

In addition to the APAT logo and UK Team Championship event wording embroidered onto the shirt breast, shirts are also branded with the Team Name plus player name OR nickname (other wording or team logo embroidery is also possible but will cost more depending on requirements).

To order send a PM via APAT Website to myself via HERE or via Facebook Messenger HERE.

This event has seen huge demand in previous years, and we are expecting similar interest this year.  The event has also on occasion previously suffered from "team last minute dropouts", and therefore, as we did previously, we will again maintain a reserve list and require all individual team members to pay the entry fee of £82 via Grosvenor Poker in advance by 9pm on Friday 5th January 2018.

Any team failing to meet the buyin (all 8 members) deadline will have their team entry offered to teams on the reserve list.

Any team that pays the full buyins (all 8 members) and has a last minute need to drop out will have their entry offered to the next team on the reserve list and whichever team takes up this option will have their buyins used to reimburse the team that had to drop out.

The event structure can be found HERE.

If you have any questions about the event, feel free to post on this thread or contact me personally by PM on APAT Website via HERE or via Facebook Messenger HERE.

APAT Player Of The Year Leaderboard Ranking Points will be awarded for this event.

Have you entered a team in the APAT Premier League to win a guaranteed invite? We're so oversubscribed for the live event, that it's the only way to guarantee your place (teams of 4, each tourney paid out as normal, top 3 teams win guaranteed invite to live event).

Hi MattD

No we haven't, my fault really, for some reason I had it in my head it was on Fridays which myself and others can't commit to. Realised it was Sunday after the first game. I appreciate it is always over subscribed as it is such a good well run event.

Incidentally though how can you say "it's the only way to guarantee your place" when only the top 3 are guaranteed? I hope teams are not going to be penalised for not playing your on line league.

Matt is being 'general' mate... but it IS the only way ANY team can GUARANTEE a place... win it via the Premier League... he's not being specific to you or any other team... otherwise it's down to a selection process where inevitably some of the teams who have not guaranteed a place via the Premier League, but applied, will have to be disappointed...

As Tom says on his post, "the only way to guarantee your place" refers to playing the league and finishing in the top 3. The full sentence read: "We're so oversubscribed for the live event, that it's the only way to guarantee your place (teams of 4, each tourney paid out as normal, top 3 teams win guaranteed invite to live event).", which I thought was pretty clear?. Every other team will go into the selection process, where unfortunately some teams will be disappointed. It's therefore a pretty good idea to try and play the league to guarantee your place (entries are open until 7pm Sunday btw, and you only need a team of 3 or 4 players).

Hey - I sent an application to Tom on behalf of the Bristol Poker League. I'm only 90% sure it sent correctly and am a little nervous as it impacts on others. So would you mind confirming receipt? Thanks!
