APAT Irish (Dublin) Live Updates Day 1 2017
« on: October 29, 2017, 14:08:33 PM »
Welcome to the APAT Irish Amateur Poker Championship, held at the Bonnington Hotel in Dublin.

I will be bringing you updates from around the room along with Tom Brady.

Over 100 players so far have sat down with their 20k starting stack on a 40 minute clock. The plan is to play 15 levels today and we expect to be in the money by the end of play today. Remaining players will return tomorrow at 12 noon to see the tournament to completion and crown an APAT Irish Champion. Leigh will be providing the live stream from tomorrow.

Good luck to all taking part - shuffle up and deal!

Three players with cards in front of them and a decent amount of chips in the middle.

The board is 10c 4d Kc 6d 10d

Rob Davies ships the rest of his stack across the line - 9,750.

Richard Arthur, directly to Rob's left, is obviously frustrated at this - "I don't believe it...!" and he makes the call.

The other guy folds.

Rob has Ad 3d

Richard shakes his head and shows 10s 9s

Rob now up to around 35k.

Nicki Meighan went down to 2k

Her QQ on a 7 high flop seemed good enough to call the shove of Enda Walsh.
He turned over AA and took the pot.

But, she has re-grouped and re-built and is now on just over 8k.

Leslie Warren calls under the gun.
Nerijus Simonavicius makes it 450 to call.
Dave "Paxo" Paxton calls in the small blind and Leslie calls the extra.

8h 8d Qd

Paxo and Leslie check call Nerijus' 1100 bet

They all check the Jc turn

9d on the river.
Paxo checks. Leslie bets 2200.
Nerijus folds.
Paxo asks if Leslie has the flush - she says nothing.
He folds but shows Qc 9c

Leslie shows 7s 8s as she takes the pot.

Nicki Meighan - having built up her stack to a decent size, re-raises the villain pre flop and they see a q high flop.

Nicki bets every street getting it all in for the river - another Q.

40k pot.

Nicki has AA
Villain has AQ os

Nicki is out.

Anthony Ferry - in the cut off, Robert Blaauwgeers - on the button, Elie Hallouss and Paul Shillaber - both in mid position all have their cards still.

The pot is around 4.5k and the board so far is Js 6d 7h 9d and they all call the 800 bet by Anthony.

10c river

Elie and Paul check. Anthony fires 3,475.
Robert and Elie fold. Paul makes a quick call and is happy to see Anthony's Ad 10h as he turns 8s 9h and takes the pot.

Barrie Penman makes it 800 pre flop with blinds at 150/300, 50 ante.

He gets 5 callers!

Ac Jc 10d flop gets checked by all.

8c

Dave Kingswell, first to act from the small blind, bets 1200.

Nicki Meighan, big blind, makes the call.

Darren Harbinson moves all in for just over 3k.

A fold from the player next to him and re ship of 5300 from Barrie.

Next player folds and it is back on Dave. He has a long think and counts out the call to see the dent it would make in his stack...he makes the call.

Nicki folds.

Darren quickly shows Qc 9d
Barrie has Kc Ks
Dave has 8h 10c

5s on the river.

Darren triples up, Dave gets a small side pot and Barrie is eliminated.

Dave Pilkington calls me over as he is scooping in a huge pot - "you're going to love this, Lucy..."

I look at the cards. Dave had Qh Qs and the flop came Qc 4s 4h

He told me there was action from the other players in the pot on all streets and re-raised all in on the river and got called.

Not sure how many chips he now has as he was still trying to sort them...will find him and find out.
