Just got back from Luton after another tremendous APAT event.

Big thanks to Rich, Des & Tikay for all their hard work. Also thanks to G Casino for looking after us so well.

Bit of a grind for me today, never really got started and finished earlier than I had hoped.

Well done to Si Auckland & Jon G for making day 2 and they are my two picks to bring the trophy home...

So they will probably end up 42nd & 41st...

I think I probably ought to offer Suraj Shah an apology. After being rivered off a 70000 pot minutes before the close, I thumped the table and walked out - not very APAT of me. If you read this Surah  , sorry about that, from what I saw you were playing reallly well and I be supporting you for the final stages.

With Brendan and Ironside out as well, it looks like Mark has moved closer to sealing his seat in the sun.  Quite rightly too.  Definitely the most consistent live player over the season.

Still a few who can catch him, but he"s on the home-straight now.

As to the weekend - really enjoyed it.  Didn"t really get out of the blocks myself, and had to grind away to stay afloat without being able to build a stack I could do anything with.

Good luck to all still in, and thanks again to Rich, Des and Tikay - and all the staff at Luton.

Good luck to all the finalists today, just to add my bad beat to the thread, I lost 95% of my chips in a 30k pot all in pre flop (Blinds 3/600). My aces were never gonna stand to villains Queens, and when the turn made him quads it was all but over. Maybe my luck will change in season 2?

Would just like to add my thanks to everyone at Luton for making the European Open the best Apat live event so far (IMHO).

Great venue and hope to play there again in the near future.

Also to get my bad beat off my chest (yes I know nobody cares, but it makes me feel better) All in pre-flop for a around a 50K pot. My AK being done on the turn by AQ. Still if the poker gods say its not your day then so be it.

Good luck to all the finalists today, even the ones that have my chips!

Just want to say what a great event and a very good spirit at my table and throughout. Enjoyed it and was just going through the gears when i got cut short, just after the dinner break.

All the best to todays runners and congratulations to all involved in organising, you deserve a big pat on the back.

See you all in the next event
Looking forward to making my first day 2

Just got my PC back so a bit late, but many thanks to all at APAT for another brilliant tournament. Can they get any better? They probably will as nothing they do surprises me now, but it will take some doing as the structure is unbelievably good - I can"t wait for the next one. Hopefully I won"t get KK against AA next time and I"ll last more than 2 hours.......

Congrats to the eventual winner - great that a Welshman won one!
