Are any of the early arrivals for next weeks event planning on playing in the 60 euro/ 1 re-buy tourney at the Fitzwilliam Club on Friday night. Also, is it true that the venue is an alcohol free zone?

Don't know about the tourney (as I won't be there in time), but yes from what I've been told there's no alcohol in the casinos in Ireland.
Apparently there's a good pub right next door to the Fitzwilliam though.

As I am so lazy, hoping someone else has done their homework and can let us know :
What is the Chips/Structure like for this?
And what are the other Tournament alternatives on the Friday?
Many thanks

No mystery in the first part Jon. Both are as previous APAT live events. Players will start with 10,000 chips and the structure will start at 25 / 50, with a 40 minute clock throughout.
The complete structure can be found here and the only amend being that day one will start at 2.30pm, not 2.00pm:

From reading their web-site the tourney on Friday is a bounty one. Can anyone out there shed any light on this. Will it be good to get a feel for the place before Saturday, or are there better places to play on Friday?

it is a scalps tourney you are given a 10euro chip at the start of the game and as you knock out players you are given their chip, so at the end you might have 4/5 of these chips worth 40 or 50euro. From memory the structure of the tourney was ok and very enjoyable.

Hey all,
I get into Dublin early Friday and was wondering if anyone plans on meeting up in the afternoon/evening for a few pints? And/or are most of you guys playing in the Friday night tourney?
Most of you have no idea who I am but I met a few of the Blonde guys (Ironside, Dewi etc.) over a few pints at the Newcastle event in Nov. I'm the Canadian guy living in Edinburgh.
Just thought it'd be a good idea to meet a few other poker degenerates
Cheers.

For those arriving Friday, who may want to play some poker!!! I have had a quick search on the interweb and found the following tournaments -
The Fitzwilliam
8.30pm €50 + €5 NLHE (Scalps) 1 Re-buy in first hour or 1 top up
*Scalps: Players receive a bounty for every opponent that they knock out of the tournament.
The Jackpot, 20 Montague St, Dublin 2
9.00pm €50 + €5 NLHE F/out Deepstack
Sporting Emporium, Anne's Lane, Dublin 2
8.30pm €25 + €5 NLHE 3 x Rebuys or 2 x Rebuys + 1 x Top-up
We (the 3 of us travelling together), were leaning towards the €50 f/out at The Jackpot.
