Just back from Walsall after the scary drive from hell, M6 & fog don"t mix.  Well played Rich, top result and a very deserved victory.

Also big up to Neil who took silver, well done mate.  Honourable mentions to Martyn Sharp (who managed to be short stacked for about 5 hours and made the money) & Mike Hopkinson (the overnight leader who was prepared to aim for the win but went out on the final table bubble).

Bring on the regionals next week & Manchester next month.

Big thanks to Des, Richard & crew for another excellent weekend and all the staff at Walsall for looking after us so well.

Congratulations to Rich...a truly well deserved win.

And to Neil, who ground it out with me to the bitter end and just would NOT call when I put him in and when he finally did, he drew out to double up and stay in it ;D

A great deal of fun, top marks to Richard, Des, the APAT reporting team and all the Grosvenor staff, particulalry Danny the TD.

Good to meet a lot of people from the forum and put faces to avatars. Manchester next!

Just got home through the fog on the M5. Yuk.

Many congratulations to Rich, who is a worthy champion.

It feels a bit bittersweet at the moment. I had nearly 1/2 the chips in play at the start of the final table, but could not get it done.
Still, i"ll gladly take 4th place considering i should not have made Day 2.  All in near the end of day 1 with  js jh vs  kd kc, only to spike the  jc on the river.

Many thanks to Richard, Des, Danny and all at APAT and the Grosvenor Walsall for running the event so smoothly.
Thanks also for the support. It really does help.

Read through it all now.

Excellent updates. Just revisited the hands and it"s great to have a record of it  ;)

Only got Aces once during the whole tournament, had to make the most of them!

Thanks for the support, especially Jas who obviously had nothing better to do :P

Board: 9h-6h-Qc

Paul bets 50k, Rich calls.

Turn: Jd

Check check.

River: 2d

Paul checks, Rich bets 90k. Paul calls. Rich shows 7-8 for the missed straight draw. Paul shows K-5 for the pot.

Blinds are now 12,000/24,000.

Just to clear this hand up a bit. My table image wasn"t that bad! Paul didn"t call with K high!

The board was:

Board: 9h-6h-Kc-Jd-2d

and he almost passed his K. Nice call tho Paul.
