Return of the Cat
« on: August 19, 2010, 15:18:59 PM »
Well, owing to extreme boredness, i have decided to start up one of these blog jobbies to run up to the European Championships where i will be attempting to defend my title!!

At the minute, i am waiting for tonight to come round for a little home game with some mates at rileys, which will be my first game of poker for nearly 3 weeks, the last one being in Estonia!!

The break was partly money enforced, but mainly as i just felt the need to take a few weeks off, to try and get a bit of a reset in and rid myself of the increasingly loose aggressive game that i have been developing over the last 6 months.

Now i am not saying that being Laggy is bad, but when your using it as poorly as i have been it most definately does not help!

So, if you like, stick with me and give me some help and we will see how things go! Will update tonight after the poker and let you all know how it has gone, if anyone is reading!!

Well, I would say that was interesting but it wasnt!!

I really feel like i am trying to figure my game out at the minute. I have gone from a fairly tight player, to a very aggressive one, and tonight tried o be tight, and frankly i was just awful.

Was card dead, didnt let myself open the taps up and play aggressive and ended up being blinded down to 5x and shoving into a 1.1k raise for another 4k with AJ and running into AQ.

Sigh.

Its really reaaaaallly annoying, i feel alot better when i am playing Laggy, but i havent got it mastered yet. Suppose the only way to get better is to keep at it, but I find it far easier at teh APAT events then I do paying against my mates, which is what i do most of the time!!

Time will tell i suppose, got to keep on plugging at it, but poker shall be on the back burner for a week or so, as next week is dedicated to Leeds festival.

Gutted to be missing the Worlds, but unfortunately Blink 182 are a band that i cant risk not seeing!

This comment makes me feel so old ... I saw them years ago ... was all going a bit mental ... so much better to get these guys live.

Trying to remember the last gig I went to!

Feels like it might have been Chelmsford/Reading 2006 ... Epic sets from Radiohead and Pearl Jam ... happy/swirly/drifty days ...

I still think you should be playing poker though!

Nice evening had today, finished work at 6 and went to my sisters.

Its her anniversary today, so the rest of my mum dad and brother come over to babysit our 1 year old nephew and have a takeaway.

That lad really is superb, best way to lift spirits i have ever found, never fails to bring a smile to my face.

Cricket tomorrow, our team is struggling massively this season, with relegation looking likely after 3 years of winning  the league. We are in a transitional period at the minute with alot of younger players coming through, so the drop down a division should see us find out level again and let us rebuild properly.

First update in a few days, work has been hectic!!

Relegation was confirmed on sunday, as we suffered another defeat after gifting the opposition 60 more runs than they should have, on a personal note the leg spin is coming along well, taking a wicket and getting a few edges and nearly bowled out of my 6 overs, off for another practice in half an hour!!!

Leeds festival is nearly upon us, still dissapointed to be missing the poker like, but good luck to Phil and everyone else i know,l i will be watching the updates from the festival and railing you all!
