Half Price Sunday Million

Treated myself to the $107.50 buy-in today, it"s well above my bankroll but it is my very first "Fathers Day"

I had good run and bad run. So can"t complain really. Finished 3266/20216.

I"m in two minds of whether I should have hung out for the min cash or not but decided to keep playing as I would. Unfortunately, it didn"t pay off so my bankroll has took a bit of a dent!

Never mind. Hopefully I can find a few backers to join me in my bankroll building mission?

Keep an eye out in the "Staking Request" thread (in the words of Des) coming soon!

I"ve never really been a cash player but thought I"d give Poker Stars Zoom Poker a go.

I"ve tried playing tight aggressive, loose aggressive, tight passive, loose passive, I even tried luckbox fishive!!

and it seems the most successful route is just by being plain old LUCKY!! (which unfortunately, I"m not)

I"ve had Aces cracked, trips beaten by runner runner, two pair beaten by runner runner, also had many more hands beaten on the river.

I think I"ll stick to getting badly beaten in tournaments!!

Freeroll Freeloaders!

A couple of thoughts with reference to the Genting Freeroll for APAT members:

I noticed a couple of weeks ago a post asking for the password for the mentioned freeroll from a member who had amassed a grand total of one post! Okay, at least this person bothered to join but, if he had searched through the site a bit harder he could have found it anyway!

Tonight saw a lot of entries into this competition from all parts of the world, I"m guessing that many weren"t members.... How did they get the password? It was openly offered in the "Rail on Sunday" post!

One player on my opening table just kept shoving all-in every hand and goating people to call (fortunately he didn"t win when eventually called but still not very APAT like). I also read elsewhere of some "un-APAT" chat!

I"ve viewed various sections on the forum and also found the password for the recent National Online League... It was in a thread headed up as "password"!

I understand that all people involved in organising and running these events aren"t exactly doing it for the money but surely there must be a better way than publicly displaying it to anyone who visits the forum? How many unregistered players are likely to find their way into the up and coming Online Team Events?

The Times They Are A"changing!

It"s been a while since I"ve posted anything about my life outside of poker, a lot has changed so I will try to keep it short!

Since being made redundant at the beginning of the year I ventured into self-employment. This started off very well, tailed off in the middle and the less said about the end the better! However, I have no regrets. I didn"t lose any money over it, I actually done okay from it for the first three months. So good that I was able to allow myself to work part time for about two and a half months which allowed me to enjoy the birth and the first two months of my daughter"s life.

Alexis Alice McCarthy

Three weeks ago I managed to bag myself a job doing what I have done for the last 20 years, I"ve fallen back into it quite comfortably and am really enjoying it.

This time last year I was excited about going to play in the Goliath in Coventry and then travelling a short distance to Nottingham for the APAT event. Unfortunately, this year I am unable to do both. I"m a father now and have responsibilities! This means APAT will be missed this year. The Goliath has been chosen over APAT purely because about half a dozen others from our local Tuesday night game are also going.

Good luck to all playing at DTD and maybe see some of you who are also playing the Goliath.

Has it really been that long since I posted on here?

Hello, remember me?

So, over 120 days since my last post... Where have I been? Well, nowhere really!

I have eased back on my poker playing over the last few months, I used to play the $11 Sunday games on PokerStars virtually every week but it has proved more difficult to do with my other commitments (baby feeding, nappy changing, baby sitting).

I haven"t really missed the endless hours of playing online, in fact I probably feel better about playing because I"m playing less! I may consider setting up a Staking Request sometime soon, probably just playing a few games on the APAT site. My online results don"t seem that great and probably wouldn"t be considered as a brilliant investment opportunity but I think thats more due to my bad bankroll management!

I really wish I could play more live games though, I play my local weekly £5 re-buy but that"s not quite APAT!
Here"s hoping I can find a way to sort this!

Looking forward to the upcoming National Online Cup.

See you all at the virtual tables soon.

You know your luck"s in when....

Not sure how to transfer hand history from the APAT poker site to here but here"s a quick breakdown:

Blinds 100/200

UTG+1: 2580 chips (also ran)
UTG+3: 2462 chips (luckbox)
UTG+4: 4800 chips (me)

UTG+1 calls 200
UTG+3 calls 200
UTG+4 raises to 1000 with QQ
UTG+1 re-raises to 1800
UTG+3 calls
UTG+4 re-raises all-in (4800 chips)
UTG+1 calls (2580)
UTG+3 calls (2462)

UTG+1 shows AQos
UTG+3 shows 72os
UTG+4 shows QQ

FLOP:  8 5 4 rainbow
TURN:  6
RIVER: 3

At least I won the 236 chips in the side pot!  ::)  ;D

 Thank you Carl.

Yes, little one is keeping me busy. Especially now she"s on her feet!

Had a bit of a rest from poker and hoping to return all refreshed and running lucky like..... Well, YOU  :P

Currently struggling with my poor excuse of a laptop.... Is APAT poker site available on an android tablet yet?

Hope to play some live APAT this season too :)
