If Carlsberg did live updates, I'd be a lager

Well I'm in  Grin. Just wondering though, how come it is taking so long to fill up? How I remember, a couple of seasons ago when you had the famous 'click-fests', the tournies were filled within minutes. Now, 2 hours on and only 69 seats filled. Why do you think that is?

Lots of competition, events every weekend. People pick and choose. eg May has the DTD Grand Prix, the Help for Heroes event at DTD the same weekend as Cardiff, a trip to Ireland for some APATers the weekend before. One person won't play Cardiff because he's going to Ireland. Wouldn't have happened in the old days.

General point, bankrolls, expenses, family commitments are all a factor

People know it won't sell out straight away, so there's no rush like there once was

As a result a slight shift to some paying on the day. About 40 did this in Newcastle, which was higher than normal

The event will still be a sell out

The lobby still shows the tourny starting 22 May at 00:00h. I know this is just a holding tank for people who have bought in/qualified, but wouldn't it be just as easy for 888 to show the actual start time and date (2.30pm 28th May...I hope)

the holding tank close about a week before the tournament starts so 888.com can send the cash and player names to the casino so that's why it says that date

Ahh, at least there is a reason. Thanks.

I was listening to a recent 2+2 PokerCast and they were discussing the fact that a lot of tournies in the States are experiencing low turnouts, due to the number of different tours now available. It might mean that if organisers want to ensure a decent turnout they will need to make the tournament more appealing to the players....FREEBIES etc  Smiley which cannot be a bad thing!

APAT is in its fifth year of providing registration free, added value festival structure tournaments for under £100

Beat that. Imitators will imitate.

Whilst I feel that you really can't compare the UK and US markets...you're overlooking the fact that we already get freebies...Free Dealers & NO REG FEE.

I'll take that over a free logo'd baseball cap that I won't wear anyway.

I wasn't suggesting that APAT need to do more, I was just pointing out the fact that there are more tours and festivals around (UK or otherwise) and that in general the fields for some events (not APAT) are lower than in previous years.

I am very happy with what APAT are providing for us and fully appreciate the hard work that goes into securing things such as no reg fee etc.

Having said that, I think you would look great in an "I love Las Vegas" baseball cap Paulie  Grin

All APATs have sold out so far this year and have had alternates.

I tell alot of Dutch/Germans about APAT in the casino's/clubs I play in over here.  They struggle to comprehend the whole value for money and believe its too good to be true!

Brit players really are the priviliged few and should make the most of it. Tournament standards, standard of play, VFM, atmosphere and social along with non taxable winnings - alot of foreigners would give their right arm for these sort of events.

I'm actually really suffering withdrawal symptoms as I have to put up with poor TD's, confused European takes on rules, organiser creaming huge amounts of juice and generally higher buy ins if I want a half decent standard of poker.

I really cannot wait to get back to the UK to start playing these again :-)

BFWIW, I cannot play this one as I'm hoping to support the DTD event for obvious reasons to those who know me.

Hope the APAT tournament goes off as brilliantly as they always do!

APAT are pleased to confirm that the Sunday Side Event in Cardiff will be PLO H/L.  It will be a £25+£5 event starting at 3:30pm with 5 tables of 8 players.

The event will be available for buyin on the Saturday evening at the poker desk.

Also, Les Croupiers are running a £15 Freezeout tournament on the Friday night.  We have been advised that this normally gets around 100 runners.

I KNEW there was a reason I booked Sunday night too...only problem I have now is that I'm not sure I want to make Day 2 now.

Decisions, decisions.

Hello Smiley

Can anyone advise please, has the Welsh Am trny in Cardiff sold out?

The reason I ask, is that it is not showing up in 888 lobby. I have checked through "All/Tournaments"
and also in "Leagues"

Well i can't find it, i have even logged out of 888 and back in, still no luck Sad

Cheers in advance P.Mac Smiley

Is it normal for the lobby to just vanish from 888?

This is my first live event with APAT, I am registered, will I receive confirmation or anything?
