Erimus:
Played a bit more cash this week got up to 2 k hands and have made $160 which is ok, would of been more but had a couple of accidents KK v aa twice which I suppose are coolers, have to take them on the chin.

Tourney wise played the Apat game last weekend finished 15th I think KK < A10 at the business end so again fairly routine stuff. Only played about 3 other games on Stars nothing spectacular to report.

Played twice live, finishing 4th  cash bubble at the G lad won it from half a big blind, he had 1500 chips at 3k/1k5 was comical to watch but good luck to him, and last night at gala finished 12th 2 of the cash Ak < K8 for 50k in chips, the villain was hitting the lot at the time so it was inevitable, should of been out an hour previous when I got it in bad and got lucky, embrace the variance.

Off to Coventry at the weekend to watch the Boro, it"s my 50th birthday and Coventry had a deal for 2 tickets, hotel room,2 free drinks in Casino and breakfast for £43.50 so my brother, cousin and mate going down, also a few from Stockton going including Phil and Stu, so will probably play the tourney at the casino on Saturday night.

I actually stopped going to football a few years ago as it was fairly depressing, not because Boro were losing every week,I have followed them through worse periods, the atmosphere at games has changed so much, I just found it a bit of a bland experience, and it became a chore to get to a match.

I have started to go to games on a regular basis again but it"s more for the social side now ie drinks before and after the game with mates, the results are pretty immaterial where as a few years ago a bad result would totally ruin a weekend or a full week in some cases.

No poker in this bit just a few ramblings about being a Boro supporter for the past 45 years

I stated going to games when I was about 8 years old,my Dad would take me to Ayresome Park every other Saturday the journey would consist of a bus ride to my uncles house around 5 miles were we would meet him,and walk the next 3 to 4 miles to the ground, It was 8 years later when I started going myself that the bus went to the ground but my dad didn"t like to pay the extra to do the full journey he would rather make me walk the extra 3 mile to save 15p, times were hard. I don"t think he actually paid an entrance fee for me into the ground he would shove me in front of him in the turnstile, ask the bloke to give me a squeeze (not in the sexual sense you understand) and we would both get in for the price of one ticket, apparently saving the extra cash meant a couple more pints for him on the night he tells me now lol.

One of my earliest memories was camping outside the Ground in the middle of January to get tickets to see Man Utd in the Fa Cup it was bloody freezing, again my dad was with me I was probably about 9 I think, and to to this day I wonder why I had to be there he could of just camped himself got 2 tickets job done, but no if I wanted to see the game I had to endure the same as him.

We got the tickets, the game had to be played at 3 pm on a school day,it was during the miners strike and the 3 day week was on,so floodlights were not allowed to be used hence the afternoon game, we lost the game 3 0 I think, but like now Man Utd were massive at the time so it was a big game.

When Jack Charlton arrived as manager in the early 70s we were all convinced we were actually going to win some thing or even get to an FA cup final, but it never happened and I was convinced we would never win anything but there was always hope, but when he left it was Bob Hope or No hope.

My favourite time as a Boro fan was after liquidation, we went up from the third to the first in successive seasons, subsequently relegated, but that team was made up of local players, and it did give a sense of we were all part of that team, even the supporters.

I have seen us in a Cup Final, I have seen us win a major trophy, and also appear in a major European Final all of which I would never of believed when I started going all those years ago, like I said in a previous post I don"t have the same passion as I used to have, but since Mowbray took over from Strachen I have took more of an interest I think I like the idea of local players and management representing the town,it just gives the club a stronger link to to the town and does help give the place a push and a boost, any way must stop rambling on ironing to do. Balla lifestyle me you know.

After a great start to the month with my 4th place on stars the rest has been pretty average on the poker front, I have played 45 mtts on stars ranging from $5 to $20 making a profit of $751 which is about $200 less than I actually won from my 4th place finish at the start of the month. I have had a few min cashes here and there and deepish runs without getting the rub of the green at the business end of the tournaments, i am currently coming off a 15 game cashless streak which is pretty annoying But playing in big field mtts it"s pretty standard stuff.

Cash wise I am up $150 after about 2k hands So bankroll round about $1300 on stars hopefully that will increase in February.

On 888 I was down $175 after 12 mtts, that includes the Apat game which I think I finished late teens I think, lost late on with KK against A 10 no complaints standard at that stage of the game, I managed to get a 3rd last night in a 3k gteed for $450 which puts me in profit for the month on 888. I think I shall start playing more on 888 as the fields are so much softer than Stars, bankroll on there currently standing at $750, again hope to get that moving upwards next month.

I have to be happy with this months efforts if I can win $1k a month every month I would be well pleased,as it is a hobby not a profession.

Regarding live play I am probably breaking even cashed a few weeks ago at the local g which paid for various other entries into the local games but not any cashes of note.

Had a good weekend at the Ricoh for my birthday, football was poor but enjoyed the weekend, ending up watching Stuart destroy the final table for a few hundred notes, was dying to tell the others to call him down because he was pushing so light, it was good stuff actually, he really took advantage of his stack size and the others just trying to ladder, pretty sure I had 10% of him that night as well.

Family wise my son has just started a new job in Leeds so he is commuting there daily from Middlesbrough which is a pain for him, so I would imagine once he has settled in the job he will be moving to Leeds, the wife"s MS still causing her loads of grief went to see the specialist last week got the usual sympathy etc but unfortunaly there is nothing which can be done, we have managed to get an excercise bike for her at home now,so at least she is getting a bit of excercise which hopefully in the future will give her a bit of strength in the legs so she can get back on her feet, and hopefully start to walk again, this is a long way off though we can only but hope.

I have also noticed a thread for Vegas will be keeping an eye on that , any way run good be healthy and good luck.
