Flopping a Set

(1/5) > >>

Jon MW:
First hand of a freeroll

Everybody has 1500 chips, blinds 10,20, and you know nothing about anyone.

MP limps, SB completes and in the big blind you check with  jd ks

The pot is 60
The flop is  8d jh js

SB checks

What is your next course of action?

AMRN:
gotta get some value in the pot.... bet 40.  Also, strong bet might actually disguise the strength of your hand (if that makes sense).

kinboshi:
Freeroll you say?  Shove, and watch them call.

Bodddders:
Firstly its a freeroll, how come only 3 people are in the pot?

Id bet about half the pot and hope either both call or raise, by betting im hoping to disguise the strength of my hand.

I would have thought 30 or 40.
Less would be just too little and more might actually scare them off.
I would also be tempted to check and hope somebody tried to steal it, or paired an ace and tried to take the pot.

But...
The bet was actually 20.
MP called
SB folded

Turn:
8d jh js   th

Pot: 100

With the SB folding you"re first to act, now what do you do?
Could you put the MP on a range of hands, or could they be betting with anything because you bet so little?
