QQ in a satellite

UTG is pushing with any 2 cards. It was the EP player that got me, a minimum raise when he did not have to play just smelt of AA, KK. As it turned out he had 99 but ignore the cards with the info in front of me I think a fold was the right choice.

The trouble was that all the short stacks was doubling up until we was down to about 230 I was in 205 when I got AK in the BB. Short stack shoved on me, I could have fold but felt that I need to win a pot to get through. They had a PP which held. Put me down to 11/2 BB then pushed with K 10 got called with 6 5 you know the rest.

Out of curiosity ... had you done any limp/call/folding between the QQ hand and this stage? Or had it got to this stage through folding every single hand after the QQ hand?

Surprised it dropped down this quickly if every hand after QQ had been folded (chips only going through Blinds and antes).

Also, I hear the 11/2 BB thing and feeling like you needed to shove to win a pot to stay alive ... but 1 chip has exactly the same value as 240,000 chips when a sate ends, so the 10x BB shove thing really doesn"t carry the same weight here (imo only of course).  I don"t know, for me I can still fold here with 11/2BB 230 left, currently sitting at 205, ppl that are all shoving at this stage. 

I"d have the smallest stacks tables open and be guaging right til the last chip, and being the annoying git thats slowing the action right down as well if need be ;-)

Just re-read ... did you have 1 1/2 bb or 11 and a half left?

At the same time I was playing 2 other games, 1 was for a seat to the GPS, we was on the FT and was in with a good shout of getting a seat. In the other game we was on the money bubble, so my concentration was not fully on this game. After the QQ hand I thought I could fold my way to a seat so my eye was not on this game but on the other 2. Before you know it I was down to about 6 BB when the AK hand came (in the BB). The mistake is that all the other players was pushing and not getting looked up, and I called instead of getting in the pot first. After that I had 1 1/2 BB
