The River (or...They always get there)

I know this has probably been talked about before but....

Do you find much more players seem to stay in until the river and tend to hit it....

I was playing a 4max comp today and the amount of "come from behind wins" seemed ridiculous..

I suppose it is likely to be the low stakes - $4 entry that encourages players to stay in longer.

Do people who play higher stakes games $50+ see the same trends or do players tend to play properly?

Happens all the time. Stars is obviously to blame, as proven by their marquee pro winning 2 SCOOP events.

Its hard to put a serious response but I can assure you that there are bad players at all levels and getting rivered is certainly not uncommon, whatever site you play on or whether you play live

Scousebill:
This post isn"t just solely about me getting rivered but the view that a lot of hands I have seen have been won on the River lately..

Obviously for me personally I need to bet heavier before the River to try to get them out of the hand...

if you"re ahead, why do you want to get them out of the hand?  So long as you are charging the wrong price for them to chase their draws, then let them play badly - variance says they will get there once in a while, but that"s just poker.

I was playing on Stars last night and witnessed a proper blowup by some guy from Switzerland kicking off for a good 5 minutes saying the site was rigged and that "always the same get good cards then when near the money nothing etc" "the only winners are the PokerStars mafia" etc.. needless to say he was losing.

Then when he got knocked out of the tourny went on an another massive capital letter style rant to the guy who had knocked him out which went on for another good 5 mins... at the end of the guy who knocked him out just replied with "gg"...  ;D

Always the same Bill... you always remember the times you get rivered or 1, 2 outed etc... but never remember the times when you get lucky yourself or river someone else, all swings and roundabouts mate x
