My wife was reading that 50 Shades of Grey in bed last night and I could tell she was turned on because she suddenly put the book down and started licking her lips. The benefits of being a gymnast I suppose.

50 shades of grey is quite a easy read i heard most women just flicked through it.......

"Been reading "50 Shades of Grey" have you?" I asked my secretary when she strode into work this morning.Blushing bright red she said, "How the hell do you know that? I have it downloaded on my Kindle and I only read it in discrete corners of the train so nobody can look over my shoulder.""Simple", I replied, "Every time you take a step I can hear a squelching sound."

My wife has just got a electric shock while reading 50 shades of grey on her kindle!!That will teach her to use it with wet fingers!!

My Newspaper printed little parts of the books, and well i had a good laugh

not because the book is so brilliant and funny, but because the author must have a brilliant PR company.

I not have read the book, but the few printed lines been more than enough, i would say it is the most boring book ever, and most likely a book with empty pages is more thrilling.

The writing style is awful, far to simple,
my newspaper counted the girl flushes 125 times in the first few chapters, and i wonder why

the research of the author was not good as well, it not seems like she has a lot of knowlegde about what she is writing

When I was 17 - 19 I had my intellectual rebell period, and with reading Satre and Beauvoir I ended reading history of the O. which is written about the same scene, but well a much better writting style

I not understand the hype about 50 shades of grey at all, and i have the feeling a lot are reading it, because a friend they know read it, and well that it is a PR thing

and I really not want to offend anyone, so this is not meant bad, but I wonder why else people read it? if their life is perhaps boring, frustrating or whatever else. Not everyone, but with some this might be a reason

The wonderful Victoria Coren has written a piece about this

As ever she finds the head of the nail with unerring precision.

If you liked that, then I can recommend her pieces for GQ written in the period leading up to the announcement of her engagement to David Mitchell which can be found via her blog.

thanks so very much for sharing this article

I laughed so much by reading it, finally i not feel so alone anymore for finding this book boring and dull

The idea of having a Master who urges me to eat pancakes is great though, I wish I would have someone who tells me to eat nice and sweet things all the time  :D

Excellent article.

This must be one of the first books that I have given up on half way through. Found it midly interesting until getting to the sex bits which just seemed ridiculous.
