Aspers Swansea

Sad, but FYI....

Over 100 jobs are still at risk at a casino in the South Wales city of Swansea as a consultation on its future continues.

The Aspers casino, which opened in September 2007, is no longer commercially viable, according to the company. The consultation, which began earlier on this year, is looking to close the venue and the company has already said that it will find any workers displaced a job at one of their other venues. A spokesperson told thisisSouthWales: "The future of the business is still under review and we continue to consult with the staff. It is not possible for us to make further comment at this time".

The other Aspers venues are in Newcastle, Northampton and London with another opening in Milton Keynes next year.

Finding employees places in other casinos seems a splendid standpoint, however as they are in Newcastle, Northampton, London and Milton Keynes (if it opens) that might be a killer though. Have casinos reached saturation point then ?

Pity I enjoyed it in there

Dam - was really looking forward to playing the UKIPT there and I here it was a good venue.  :(

Obviously, very sad day for the employees. Not enough money is south wales - more so given the recession.

You have been mis-informed. It was not a good venue and not well run, sorry for it"s employees of course but the casino itself won"t be missed.
