Not sure where it will end, but I have an idea of how
PHIL_TC:
Just had a week away to Spain with Lilly (wife to be), her daughter (Louise), her daughter(Lexi) who"s 3.. yes I got my first Grandpa birthday card this year.. Grandpa Phil FTW :) and of course my daughter Anna.
The apartment we were renting was great, walkable to local bars / restaurants etc, and had a balcony over looking the local beach.
Upon arrivial Anna spotted that amongst the usual buckets and spades, sun parasols etc left for use, there was a Texas Holdem set, full of chips, cards, dealer button etc. Late one night after a day in the sun and meal and a few beers Anna decided she wanted to learn how to play.. so we set up a game between the 4 of us.. hand rankings, betting etc quickly gone through, flop, turn river explained and off we went (yes I know.. I"m hardly the best teacher).
To say that the game was very loose agressive was an understatement ;D Everyone had fun but I fear now exactly what I"ve done. As the week went by the only way Anna would go to bed was the promise of "breakfast poker" and to be woken as early as possible to play again.
She"s now off for a week with the ex and new husband and family to Corfu.
She wouldn"t leave without a pack of cards and a stack of chips to play with over there though.
God knows what the ex missus will say on their return.
Happy days though.
..... OH and Cardiff this weekend you say ? ? ? ? ? :P ..... Can"t wait x
Santino67:

Missed you mate, looking like my next APAT may be Glasgow fella.. so no excuses!
Cardiff review.. what I remember anyway... Friday night.. Greg was a star of epic proportions and the evening will live a very long time in the memory ;D Already said this on Facebook but will repeat here :
"Just wanted to thank everyone who made it on the Friday night and over the weekend for a fantastic stag doo, had an absolute ball.... To quote Greg from his text the next day "you have a top bunch of friends there". Much love x"
After being refused entry into another bar at around 1am we headed back to the G where Greg was refused entry for lack of ID :-\ and we went our seperate ways. Was happy to wake up the next day with both eyebrows intact and a hangover that was almost manageable 8)
Day 1 APAT was a non event really, got a tough table with Darren Shallis, John Murray, Dan Owston on it to name but a few. Kept my head down and managed to peak around 20k at one point but never got going and with zero cards.. the anti rail grew as the day went on and they got their way around 10pm I think when our Martin Foreman called my AIPF AK shove with QJ with a Q first out saying he wanted me to go and have more beer.. cheers rang round from the anti rail, I took a bow and more beer was had... Happy days.
Sunday and starting to feel worse with the beer and lack of sleep but we had 2 of our car still in the main event, Stuart Milne and Martin Foreman. Both playing their first APAT events.. Stu did great went in the low 20"s I think (going out to a horrible beat) and then as the hangover and tiredness kicked in and a ever longing to get home Martin marched on.... and on... to the final table as chip lead. Making him the 3rd (Mark Wright and Gary Motson the others) of the Stockton Massive to get to a main event final table at their first attempt. Easy game! We gave up all hope of getting home before Monday and watched him finish 4th for a nice cash. Fantastic effort mate. Finally got to bed around 4amish after a sharpish drive back by Gary Palmer. Superstar.
Too many people to thank for a great weekend, but for those who made the effort to come out Friday or share a beer and a laugh over the weekend I take my hat off to you.
Thank you so much it meant a hell of a lot.
Tomorrow is my 1st year anniversary of this blog. I will take a look back to see hows things have progressed.. but I have a feeling I will be reviewing this one...
