WCOAP 2014 Discussion Thread

TheSnapper:
This is what happens when you raise the bar for people, pretty soon they get used to the new standard and forget completely the previous dross.  :"( :"(

This is a £110 tournament and the structure is superb imho.

dwh103:
Discussions about starting stacks are completely irrelevant and detract from the main focus - which should be the blind level structure, pure and simple. 15k, 20k, 30k - doesn"t matter if the levels aren"t correct.

PLO events may need slightly more chips or more/slower levels due to higher average pot sizes.

And lammers for the heads up (and maybe the PLO events) for a few levels to even out some variance.

CW86:
i dont know if these current levels/starting stacks have changed, but apat events; both mains and sides have always had fantastic structures. And as far as starting stacks go, totally agree with dwh103 - irrelevant if blind structure is sorted

... I think most people would agree that a slightly quicker structure and more starting chips is better also for sides say 10/15k starting stack.

I"m not sure they would, and even if they would it doesn"t mean that"s "best"

Starting stack is irrelevant compared to the structure, it"s nice to have a million chips but pretty pointless if the second level blinds are 100,000/200,000 :D

Sugar_Free:
Oh dear, what have I started.

For the record, I"m not suggesting 30K for the ME or any change to the sides (although I didn"t play the Omaha last year so I don"t know if that needed changing) , just something to differentiate from the Nationals (apart from the extra cost to us).
