swinebag's blog - proof that teachers have too much time on their hands!!
poker_jason:
Nice TR and congrats on the 4th place.
The day 3 stuff was very interesting. The two lose calls you made:
1. Q10 vs 99 - I think this was too lose. Not because its 8BB but because of the proportion of your stack. I think you had a very good table position and this was a bad spot to call so much of your stack when you had lots of opportunites to chip up against the 2 TAGs to your left. If you got 35BB+ then no probs but you didn"t.
However your rationale was to Gamble - it worked and changed the balance of the table in your favour.
2. Hand against me - I think is also fold but probably more marginal. As I playing - you were really well behind my range there / especially given your image of calling light and my superfold strategy. :D.
Also, I clearly wanted a call......
Of course my thinking here could be a leak in my game.......

Can"t argue with any of this Jason. I have pretty much said the same as you in the TR as well.

@noble and brendan.
Ty for the comments re: the QQ hand. I still hate my 4 bet fold and whilst that may have cost me less than "call 3 bet call c bet fold turn" I missed out on the best way to win a bigger pot, and by turning my hand into a bluff, I also may have been out bluffed (though I doubt it here)
The AQ hand feels much better now after your comments Bren. I still don"t like calling / fold to cbet at this stage but it is hardly a terrible move. In position, I"m all over this hand. In the SB, I"m happy with my cautious line.

This is hand played by a top online mtt"r, when I saw it first I thought WTF! thats weak but the rationale was to simply avoid a tough spot, which when you think about it, is smart.

overall Rob u have gone deep in this mtt and the ukipt thingy me do, u"ve binked a warm up and various other online mtts so just continue doing what u are doing fella... u"ve worked out what strategy works for u so tbh when others tell u it is wrong, then don"t listen to them... keep that bit of spew in your game imho, u are not playing optimally without some sub-optimal in your locker when u deem it necessary [if u know what i mean :)]
i think your post-flop game could be improved on, but thats just my opinion, u might think otherwise :)
