Hi Matt,
Will the winning team get free entry to the championships next season or is it just a guaranteed place?

Currently, the Team element is a "just for fun" part of the game, so there are no added prizes, other than guaranteed (reserved, but not paid for) entry to the Team Championship in Season 8.
This is mainly an individual game, despite the name (confusing I know!). Reason for this is that it"s been bloody tricky to find time between trying to close the Boss room, to getting everyone set up on the Coral software (still a load of headaches there), and setting up this game. So probably not enough time for all the teams that played Season 7 Team Champs to assemble their squads. Though, would obviously be great if they could! :)
We hope teams will enter for the fun aspect/bragging rights/kudos winning will entail :) And of course the guaranteed entry to S8"s Team Championship, and the indiviual prizes on offer (and gold, silver, bronze medals and entry to Champion of Champions).
If this game is successful numbers-wise this time round, then next time we"ll run it as a propler team game, complete with free entry to the following UK Team Champs. In fact, I like the idea of running a game for all teams who want to play in the next UK Team Champs, before that event. Giving guaranteed and free entry to the winning team there.
btw, a "proper" online team game starts on 9th March, with the long awaited (and overdue!) National Online League. I"ll be posting about that next week, once I have the final prizes confirmed.
edited to make more sense

How is the winning team determined? Is it whoever wins the MTT or a points based system like in Stoke?

Points based system as in Stoke. But with only top 4 points counting, so as not to massively disadvantage those who can only get a smaller team.
Will stick the scoring details on the reserved post above soon.

So will this be the regular format from now on ? is the 10k starting stack and 12 minute clock a thing of the past along with the omaha side event or will they be back later in the season ? Sorry for all the questions Matt.

No probs Don.
This is mainly a "test" event. The standard iPoker blind structure looks a lot slower than the one on Boss. If we went 10k chips & 12 min levels, it could be a 2am/3am finish. So, to start with I"m going to trial 5k and 10mins.
There was no side event planned for the UK Team Championships (either live or online), so that"s the only reason why there isn"t an online one this time.
The WCOAP will have a hold"em main event, an omaha side event, and at least 2 or 3 more side events (depending on what iPoker are able to offer here).
