Duke attempts the Impossible

So the Lion's are poised for the third test. An honest appraisal of the first test would be that they took their foot off the gas and let Australia back into the game and it was nearly taken away from them. The second test was again fingernail stuff and the series is now level. Cue the third test and for whatever reason, Warren Gatland has picked a team of direct impact players. This is all well and good if you are playing against Eton College Thirds, but we are playing against Australia FFS.

The team that has been picked lack guile and experience to turn a 50/50 ball into a match winning try. It seems that Gatland has thought "If we can't run round them, we will have to run through them". If the Aussies soak up the initial pressure (and in George Smith they have a breakdown player of immense experience) then the Lions will get frustrated and without players who can turn a game in an instant I fear that this game could suit the Wallabies.

I am hoping for, and will be screaming for, a win, but I hope the coach's shoulders are broad, because should they fail all his past glories will be conveniently forgotten and he can forget about holidaying in Ireland anytime soon...

The pack were powerful, the backs did their job sublimely and at the end of the day the result was emphatic.

I disagreed with the selection of the team and that just goes to prove that Mr Gatland has forgotten more than I will know. Take a bow sir, sorry for doubting you.......
