The Open 2014
noble1:
I"m not into golf betting but when it comes to the open i always seem compelled to bet on it :)
Right i"ve got fifty quid to burn, the only strategy i have is back previous winners of the open or a yank who has played well in the recent past and can hit it a long way :-[
so it is £2 win for the following on BF -
Ernie Els @110 [won it twice, class and smoothness]
Dustin Johnson @46 [he"s my whack it long wager]
Louis Oosthuizen @140 [former winner with back injury issues, gradually coming back]
Tiger Woods @25 [won here before and its TIGER]
Phil Mickelson @27 [defending champ who is untouchable when his putter is hot]
Padraig Harrington @250 [might play a blinder in a bid to make the ryder cup team with a view to trade]
Darren Clarke @450 [will the weight loss help his game, worth a punt imho with a view to trade if he cards a gr8 1st round score]
and £10 each on these 3 for a top10 finish -
Dustin Johnson @5.0
Tiger Woods @4.8
Phil Mickelson @4.2

and why not Achim, your countrymen are on a roll at the moment :)
i"ve got £6 left of my fifty to burn so three more picks were in order which i hope give me a sweat... £2 win on each
Martin Kaymer @26 [germany are on a roll, might as well go with it :)]
Matt Kuchar @46 [looks like a open improver to my eye]
Rickie Fowler @44 [been working on his swing with Harmon, might come good this week?]
dwh103:
May have a bet, the following jump out as value:
Jimenez @ 100 (which is a ridiculous price imo)
Els @ 100 (equally ridic)
Furyk @ 60
Mahan @ 100
Westwood @ 66
Ok, have had a bet :)
CincinnatiKid:
