Best Guarenteed Tounaments
hi_am_chris:
What good "guarenteed" prize pool tournaments are there on the web across different sites? Just wondering if people could add to this topic the best ones that they know?
technolog:
By "good" do you mean ones with a bit of overlay? I"d like to know of any in the $5-$20 range too. Got to be over by 1am at the latest though on school nights!
I play a $6.5K gtd on Ipoker (blonde poker skin) most nights - $11 buy-in but there"s rarely if ever any overlay. Decent enough structure though. It only runs Monday to Friday 7.30pm BST start.
hi_am_chris:
Sorry by good i meant those that have a bit of overlay but also those that are good value for money, decent guarenteed prize pools for low cost for example the daily 15 Grand on stars, 11 dollars with a guarenteed prize pool of 15 thousand dollars and others like 17 grand guarentee on full tilt with a 26 dollar entry fee. Theres some decent tournaments on stars on weekdays startin between 6 and quarter past 7.
Donkbox:
I"m a big fan (and a big donator) of the $3r and $5r on Stars. If you"re in for the minimum in the $3r ($9) then you"ve got a shot at a $6k+ first prize. Now whilst the tournament always goes over its $25k guarantee ($3r) the fact is that of the usual 2000 field will have been reduced by a few hundred during the re-buy period as people bust and choose not to re-buy (i never understand this btw). Also as it"s a re-buy the stacks get a lot deeper encouraging more creative play and also favouring skill.

The 8.30pm $6 on Partypoker is full of fish and quite easy to cash in (it has to be for a fish like me to win it!). It normally has a 1st prize of $1000 - $1100. There is also the $5000 guaranteed on Pokerstars which starts at 6pm. This normally attracts around 2000 players with a first prize of about $1800.
The Partypoker 8.30pm tourney normally finishes 1.30 to 2.00 am. I"m not sure about finish time for the Pokerstars one, but when I finished 25th I left at 11.10pm. Hope this is helpful.
