Aspers Stratford becomes less appealing to APAT members?

The number of violent incidents reinforces the concerns some expressed about using that casino, despite it being one of the best cardrooms in the country, especially as we usually leave in the early hours.

The same could be said of several city venues APAT has used in the past...Newcastle, Manchester, Glasgow and, of course, Luton.
.............
For the violence, I am never entirely comfortable walking any distance late at night from a casino back to my chosen hotel or car park but reasonable caution has always been advisable in these instances.
Even taking all the care in the world still isn"t an guarantee of safety as we well know from past incidents regardless of wherever APAT may go.

To suggest that that area is no worse than other areas APAT visits and that if people just take reasonable caution, they should be fine is pretty misleading. Stratford is not at all comparable with the casino locations in the places you name. Of course violence happens in all cities and it is mainly young men directing it at each other, but that area is much more prone to incidents than any other we visit. I"m not saying it"s bad enough for us not to go there, but glossing over the truth isn"t the way to deal with it.

I didn"t say that it was any worse or better...certainly the argument can be made that it"s worse though..and I wouldn"t necessarily disagree.

I didn"t say that either....I said that reasonable caution is advisable and went on to specifically say that even so there are no guarantees of safety.

Well, we can agree to disagree there...I think it is comparable ...that area may be more prone to incidents...I don"t know and you may be right but I was in no way attempting to "gloss over" anything merely attempting (perhaps poorly) to add some perspective albeit my own.

have to get this a tad in proportion guys and gals.
im a 5ft, middle aged woman and I am happy to play there on a regular basis including going to and from train stations and car parks. I would rather come out of Stratford then I would the G in luton on my own!
The trouble that has occurred has only been drink induced and possibly shoddy management of the security staff. They need to ensure there is a tightening up of serving people once sizzled but I wouldn"t think twice about playing there late at night, as I have done, and if im honest seen more trouble in Newcastle and Liverpool then I have there.
maybe im too short for anyone to see :)

You are not really a likely target for violence and, to be fair, neither are most of the poker players. The main victims of violence are young men. I"m sure you"re relatively safe.
