APAT:
I"m pleased to announce that Stuart "Sir_Percival" Oliver has accepted the post of non playing Captain of the Scottish team for the European Team Championship.  Stuart is a very experienced APAT-er having made day two of three National events and I"m sure he will do a great job of selecting the Scottish team for Brighton.

A good choice.  Hope you consider Chris Hoy for a place!

Hi

This is my view.

I think the membership of some of the teams is going to be very interesting. I expect to see at least 1 highly ranked APAT player per team as APAT have stipulated this in the guidelines. In terms of the professional question, the definition is clear, as long as poker is not your SOLE income then you are not professional. So I guess you could be deemed semi profession and eligible. I think the APAT loyality thing kicks in by having the opportunity to play for your country due to being high placed in the rankings, thats worth going for in my opinion. Like Newportlad, I also thought teams were going to be made up of APAT regulars, but perhaps the best ranked player having the opportunity to play with some great players and represent their country at the same time is good enough to keep playing APAT and go for that top spot. Good luck with the event APAT.

Hi,,,would just like to say,,this is my first season playing apat,,i was attracted by the chance of playing for england if i did well in the rankings,,as this seemed to be the main prize for playing all year.I need a pretty good finish to get near the top,but nevertheless will carry on trying. It would be disappointing therefore if the highest ranked players were not selected.I have tried a few times to register for live events,,but sadly due to my own rubbish computer skills havent managed to register yet lol,,i guess these events are where u get noticed more.I have played in the wsop main event and class myself as a pretty good player but would not wish to take the place of someone who has finished near the top of the rankings.Rankings are by far the best way to assess a player.Good luck to all who are selected,,,hope to spank u soon live lololol
