Day 2 UK Team Updates

<< < (8/20) > >>

IrishTom:
Glenn Townsend (Blonde Poker) gets his 41k stack all in with A s 9c and is called by Matt Carter (LPM) with Ah Qc and Glenn spikes 9h on Turn to double up

Chris Tilbury"s (LBPN B) Qc 10c is up against the Ad Jc of George Dickson (Blonde Poker) and with a Board 2h 7h 7d Jh 8h Chris departs in 20th

Chris Webber (Team Gotham) Kd Qd against Matt Carter"s (LPM) Ad Js and Matt gets a double up...

Luthee13:
Chris Webber and Matt Carter get tangled in a hand that leaves Chris crippled when his late position shove with  Ks Qh gets called by Matt's  Ac Jh
The board runs out with, not the one but, two aces on the flop leaving Chris drawing dead.

Next hand, Chris shoves his, now less than a minimum raise, stack.
Much debate across the table about the action for the remaining players and Mark Oldfield in the small blind makes up the min raise as does Graham Cutler in the big blind.

The flop comes 9d 3c Ac and Chris looks happy.
Mark and Graham both check.
The turn is 8d and Chris looks less happy.
Again, the other two check.
The river is the 8h and Chris looks dejected.
The other two check and Mark declares and Ace as Graham announces he has nothing.
Mark shows Ad 10s
Graham mucks.
Chris tables Kc Jc and had flopped the flush drawer to give him hope but didn"t get there.

Chris, from Team Gotham, is sent to the rail.

Luthee13:
We are down to 2 tables here and we have just had another exit.

Paul Pitchford raises from mid position.

Tom Slikboer re raises all in.

It folds back to Paul who makes the call.

Paul has 3h 3s
Tom has Kc 10s

The flop is not kind to the all in player and Paul takes a further lead with 4c 7d 3c leaving Tom needing a lot of help.

The turn shuts him down Ah

The river is a little rub down, too little too late 10d

Tom, from APAT Chocolate Lovers is out in 18th place.

We quickly and very quietly lose two players from the feature table:
Phil Stein from Blue Blood finished in 17th place
Tristan Chaplin from Black Belt Poker finished in 16th place.
I am told that maybe Paul Pitchford had something to do with it...

Matt D:
In this event last year Blonde Poker cruised to a 26th place finish. This year, under the captaincy of Geo the Sarge they are guaranteed at least silver!

The last time I played for Team Blonde in this event I was the first person knocked out of the tournament, so this feels somewhat cathartic.

Well played fellow Blondes!
