Mixed PLO / Hold'Em Game (Stanley Casino, Glasgow, Sept 08)
CrizzyConnor:
That"s typical in the Merchant, it"s what I was saying to Grant earlier - you gotta either put up with the bad players but have decent table banter and a friendly bunch of folk for the most part @ Merchant or go to Stanley with better quality of players but absolutely BORING as anything game with no atmosphere (unless you"re on a table with a mate)...
If we can get this game together then I think it"ll be decent... I just need to make sure it"s defo free to use the Stanley tables but i"m pretty sure it is as long as you take up your own chips & cards.

Kenny, I know it sucks but........ http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=1963.msg31381#msg31381
Problem you had is that in tourneys you get busted out!

right geez my 50p for readin! ;D thats what u get for no tellin yer big mucker u were going :o :"(
CrizzyConnor:
Right, checked with Stanley on Wed night and was told it"s cool to go in and use a table for free as long as it"s not being used as part of the tourney...
Only thing we need to do is provide the players & our own chips...
Was talking it over with my mate Gordon and he said it might be a good idea to use the casino"s chips from the gaming floor as our chips and play £0.25/£0.25 (the smallest chip they"ve got) - it would mean that we"d have the chips provided for us as we"d just buy them from the floor (couple of 25p, 50p and £1 chips) and would also mean that nobody would have to be in charge of the money and rebuys, plus chips wouldn"t need to be held back for rebuys (if we"re playing cash game that is)... £0.25/£0.25 would still give 40 BBs for £10 buy in and 80 BBs for £20 buy in so would be a decent fairly deepstacked game.
If we"re playing SNGs as opposed to a cash game we could just play with our own chips and blinds/clock at whatever... only downside is the possibility of players sitting out for a bit once knocked out.
Anyway on the player front we"ve got a 9 handed player list sorted:
Myself
Billy "BillyHo10"
Kenny "THEGUY84"
Grant "Santino67"
"ForthThistle" (sorry don"t know your name)
Plus a few you might know from the Merchant:
Gordon Casey
Alec Wong
Michael (forget his second name, Gordon"s mate)
... plus one of my mates you won"t know
Only thing we need to do now is decide on a day to play and sort that out...
I think a good day (if it suited you all) might be a Sunday as we can start basically anytime we want as card room opens at 2pm for their afternoon game, so we could play anytime from then onwards (maybe 5 or 6pm) and still get an early night. Gordon can"t play and neither can I this Sunday but could arrange it for next Sunday if you are all ok with that day...
Let us know your thoughts...
Oh aye and so you know - the Stanley has got a 1p (Yes, ONE PENCE) buy-in tournament (+ £2 registration) in the first week of October - £1,000 added prize pool - decent way to make money for nothing!
billyho10:
next sunday should be ok for me, i think! yeah i know gordon and michael. think a wee cash game would be fun for a change too.
cheers for organising this chris, looking forward to it. Once we get a few confirmation we can agree a time. 8)
