Was I wrong to call...
LongshanksED:
he was giving you 3.5 or 4/1 odds to call
with a good amount of chips its a mandatory call with almost any 2 cards
now - the other guy shouldve raised more to chase you out - and blinds as they where shouldve been all in
if you had called his all in i"d call you a fish
but you played it correctly

dont agree with this. Pot odds are only part of a poker decision. Yes you are getting 3.5 to 1 to call, so a call seems mandatory. But, it is also too much of your stack and therefore it has to be a fold (i.e. what george said) With your stack, you are in push/fold mode and he"s clearly calling a shove so fold.
hi_am_chris:
75 percent of the time or more your going to check fold the flop and then uve just dusted off some of ur fold equity
Santino67:
He"s gagging for a call as you already have the BB in the pot. Assuming there"s only you two in the pot there"s now 3.5k in pot and 1k to call. The odds are there if you"ve got a decent read on the opponent. It"s a push or fold situation IMO and if you pushed he"d call in a second and result would"ve been the same.
You got lucky but it was brought on by the other player giving you options in the first place.
hi_am_chris:
Usually someone raising that small will have a huge pair in that situation so then you call hit top pair and have to stack off against overpair and possible flush draw on that board? even if they guy has ak with the a or k of diamonds hes even money on that flop, just fold and wait for a better spot
