STAKER

The biggest inividual win so far was by Glenn, who put 50% of his stake on Moorman in #27, for a return of $249k.

He really has been the stand-out picker so far, also winning $13k for putting the lot on Stuart Rutter in #13.

Another excellent swoop was Liam Coulthard putting his entire stake on Matusow in #17, resulting in him picking up a cool $30k.

For the first three days this event was all about 2014 winner Dan Heimiller. He had a massive lead of 2-2½ times second place for a couple of days, and it seemed inevitable that he was destined for a second win. He always seemed to be dominating, holding AQ when someone shoved AJ and so on.  Stacks closed up a bit near the end and then came a KK v AA hand that knocked him right back. It seemed a big surprise that he 'only' finished ninth.

There aren't many big names on the results list. Ferguson and Hachem had a stab, while Greg Raymer, Cliff Josephy, Barny Boatman and Donnacha O'Dea all cashed, but we didn't have any of them.

Star of the show, though, was Sean Byrne, the 4-in-a-row hero.

Allyn Shulman is another former winner of the Seniors, here mixing it with the young'uns and besting almost all of them, coming in 15th.

Congrats to Paresh!

The winner has a string of final tables and cashes in EPTs and suchlike. He was 128th in last year's Main Event and warmed up for this by coming second in a PokerStars Championship in Monte Carlo.

What he doesn't have is friends. Not one person turned up to support him on the final table. "I guess the reason the Germans have all the money is because they are grinding and not watching," he joshed, almost convincingly.

Who needs friends when you're winning?
