2017 WSOP Fantasy Poker "Steve Ball challenge".. Staker game

<< < (20/68) > >>

MintTrav:
Doug Polk and Ryan Fee won the $1k Tag Team event last year as a duo.

They have entered the $10k version this time as a foursome, bringing in Jason Mo and Michael Finstein, and have finished Day 1 as chip-leaders (mainly due to Finstein doubling up in the last hour with a straight against Samantha Abernathy).

Abernathy is another player whose time may have come - I feel she is going to have a big result this year.

TheHitDogAF:
with regard to Staker, do we still have to submit our entry for the 10k Stud game by 2nd June?

MintTrav:
A few titbits to keep you going while we wait for the early tournaments to move towards their later stages.

Tweet from Polk re the Tag-Team event: "Nothing like going to sleep with a level to go and waking up to the chip lead."

Negreanu has taken on the fast-becoming-traditional three bracelet bet. When Mercier made this bet last year he got 180/1. Negreanu has got even money. Nice going, Daniel.

Mercier is also looking for a bet. He is asking for 2/1 on him winning a bracelet. Will accept bets with anyone, escrow if he doesn't know you. This is your chance to take money from the Player of the Year. Might have a minimum amount, mind. He is also offering to back himself against any player, offering 1.25/1 per bracelet won.

Today's Shootout is allowing players to register late, with players joining tables even after others have been eliminated. Mercier suggests putting out all stacks from the start, giving late joiners back half the chips they have lost.

Noises already from the field about the cards marking up again this year. Will this become a big issue again?

Hellmuth's autobiography officially comes out in August, but is available at the Rio.

MintTrav:
The Tag-Team event is coming to an unexpectedly interesting conclusion.

They are down to six teams, the top two being Daniel Negreanu/Eric Wasserson/David Benyamine/Mark Gregorich and Liv Boeree/Igor Kurganov. Negreanu is on at the moment, and has been helped by flopping top set two hands in a row. The Martin Jacobson/Mark Radoja team is also still there.

Lots of early points on the way all round.

Vince will take the lead after this, as he also has JC Tran, whose team finished seventh.

MintTrav:
The two events that started yesterday were both won by Brits last year, Phillip McAllister winning the $3k Shootout and Benny Glaser taking the $1.5k Omaha Hi-Lo. Eight people have put Glaser on the team and no-one has gone for McAllister.

No repeat for McAllister, who is not one of the 50 players into Day 2 of the Shootout. We have Dominik Nitsche, Olivier Busquet, James Obst, John Racener and Matt Glantz, but no-one has more than one of them.

Glaser is still in the Hi-Lo, but that is still at a much earlier stage.
