WCOAP - Day 5 (Main Event 1B, Team Day 2, Mixed Max, High Roller Day 2)
Des:
TEAM
Day 2 of the team event, which started with Italy holding a 9 point lead over Holland, with defending champs Scotland a further 4 points back. The pack is c. 6 points further back and bunched.
So if you're a team captain, what are your instructions to your team?
'Attack', we need to risk it all to take max points?
'Stay in', we're well placed and quiet point accumulation is our best way forward?
Well I'm not sure what discussions may or may not have occurred in the bar last night, or over breakfast this morning, but I do know the blinds are beginning to bite in phase 4, and players are starting to drop.

Match 27.
Disaster for England, cast adrift at the bottom of the table overnight as Craig Dawson exits first without points.
Dutch player Marco Wouters also exits early, with a point. Not what the Dutch were looking for.
Ireland's Brian Frew is next out.
Scotland lose Chris Kelly in 6th, for 3pts. Again, a low return with the Scots ambition to retain their crown.
Norbert Bobra of Poland goes in 5th.
Germany's Alexander Bochmann exits in 4th. A welcome return to points scoring by the German team following a shocking 3rd phase last night.
We're left with Trifon Pappas (Bel), Warren Jones (Wal) and Dorina Ciocan (Ita) fighting for the larger points scores. I suspect the Italians will be best pleased with how this match is progressing.

Match 28.
Another tough exit for Scotland, with James Ellis out in 9th for no return.
Wales lost Jonathan Rees in 8th.
Another Dutch player falls, this time Andreas Kappert in 7th.

Match 29
The Dutch lose Danny Op 't Hof in 9th and it seems likely they will fall back on the overnight leaderboard at the end of this phase.
Italy's first casualty of the day is 5 times bracelet winner Gabriel Iemmito, out in 8th for 1 point. Providing, perhaps, a chink of light for the rest of the field.
The light is short lived for Scotland as Tom Clark departs in 7th, a net gain of 1 point on Italy.

Our first casualty in match 30 was Ireland's Ian Thompson.
Scotland's woes continue as Ben Burnhill exited in 8th, for a point. This is turning into a tough round for the Scots and if the three remaining Italian players score highly in this phase, then Tom Clark's team will face an uphill battle to retain their title later tonight. But we're not ruling them out yet.
England's Matt Carter falls in 7th, for 2 points. In reality it doesn't looks like it will be England's weekend. There is strong MTT experience in the team and they could be fancied to score highly in the event - but they will be reliant on the Italians and other falling early.
