"You won't believe my starting table!"
It must have seemed like a great idea - an event only open to bracelet-winners. I can imagine the organisers anticipating the star-studded finale. Unfortunately, it didn't work out like that and most of the finalists were little-known one-time winners. Upeshka De Silva and Brian Yoon were eliminated shortly before the FT, while Scott Bohlman did get there, but went out in 8th, and what might have been a landmark event fizzled out.
Four players from the same $40 weekly home game, including Grant Hinkle and Blair Hinkle, have all won bracelets.

Although he had never reached a final table, Patrick Leonard has consistently received a couple of picks each year. His long-suffering supporters remained er.....supportive, and kept giving him their votes (witness his five selections this year). Now he has landed his first one, perhaps he will now start to repay his too-loyal fans with some points. The final table also contained three-time SCOOP champion Andras Nemeth.

Yet another big result for us, with APAT Champion Pete Linton getting to heads-up.
Not many points being scored these days - you guys need to give your players an earful or Barrie is going to stroll to victory.

This was one of the two events near the end that could make a big difference to the scoreboard. A starry final table could have meant lots of points being won. Did it happen? Having said there haven't been many points scored lately, there were over a thousand scored in this, but they were mostly due to one player. How will the scoreboard be affected?

A player in his first PLO tournament wins the bracelet. "I found myself in some positions that I didn't really know what to do but it worked out." Must be slightly annoying for those who do know what they are doing.
In other news, Paxo makes a late assault on the points table.
