The premium tournament of the Series attracted all the big names, and brought out some who haven't really been seen much, or at all, this Summer.
Hui moved into second place in the POY with this win. His nine cashes include 3rd, 4th, 7th and 21st places, as well as this win.
It was claimed afterwards that Hui isn't as good a player as some previous winners of this event. Who would say such a thing? He would. “My name doesn't belong there yet. I'm happy it's there, but I need to do a lot more to be in a group with those guys. I'm a lucky fish like Deeb said.” That's quite a different attitude than many other modern players such as......well........Deeb.
MintTrav:
Although he is a previous bracelet-winner, Phillip Hui's girlfriend had won more bracelets than him. The Gabriel Iemmito of the WSOP has now pulled level with Loni Harwood.

What a performance by Sandrine Phan, who finished 3rd out of 968 players in the Women's Championship, immediately entered this and finished 14th out of 6,140 players - proving that the Women's event is softer.
MintTrav:
Jean Alexandre finished 8th in the Deepstack

Zinno repays the loyalty of his supporters once again. He now has a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 10th and 15th places amongst his seven cashes this year. Okay, the 3rd place was a bit of a joke, earning it in the Tag while playing this, but the 40 points he has picked up from these two events will have shaken things up.
Is Ryan still in the lead? He had a 40-point buffer at the last checkpoint but Zinno will have bridged that on his own, so it depends on how other results have affected the situation.
