Another pro-free tournament. Heads-Up was between Chad Norton, a former car salesman and Steve Lemma, a Research Director at Edison Research, a media research company. Edison conducts audience and content analysis for broadcasting entities all over the globe and is the sole provider of exit polling data to the television networks comprising the National Election Pool, as well as hundreds of important primaries and caucuses and other election events both in America and abroad. It also taps into its 20,000-strong national network of trained exit poll interviewers to conduct place-based research for all manner of digital and traditional out of home advertisers.

We had five players still live near the end, but couldn't get any of them to the final table. Dario was close to collecting some points for Luca. Eveslage, Negreanu and Deeb have been plugging away relentlessly for minor rewards, but Seiver has scarcely made any impact so far this year.

Event 48: $1,500 Shootout No Limit Hold'emWinner          Gershon DistenfeldRunners          800Paid          80Final Table          10

For the second time, Gershon Distenfeld has donated all of his winnings to charity. Last year it was $125k for finishing 8th in the online Main Event. For winning this tournament, he won $204k and has donated that. He has also asked all winners to donate 1% of their winnings to charity. I'm sure plenty will be fine with this, but I'm always uncomfortable about public donations of poker winnings, and even more so when pressure is put on others to do likewise. Gershon M. Distenfeld isn't just rich. He is Senior Vice President at AllianceBernstein, an investment firm with $738bn under its management, and is a proper gold-plated super-mega squillionare, who could donate this amount regularly without noticing. It seems he is embarrassed to be seen taking a prize he doesn't need. Just give quietly and don't pressurise others Gershon.

Farzad Bonyadi got his fourth bracelet after a sixteen-year gap and revealed that he hadn't played poker for two years before this tournament. Negreanu finally reached a final table, while Justin Schwartz was at his fifth of this Series.

We had our annual visit from Shawn Sheikhan, who used to liven up tables a decade ago, but now seems to only play this event, the $10k NL 2-7. He didn't seem to play at all between 2014 and 2018, and I thought he had been banned by the WSOP, but then he finished fifth in 2018. And this time he was ninth, so he still has poker ability.

$600 buy-in is all you need to know and you can fill in the rest - a few pro's played, most didn't, there were none near the end. Some guy beat some other guy heads-up.
