reason i called was i saw the villain push uncontested into a few pots recently and almost treble his stack in 2 or 3 orbits

i didnt put him on a Ace or he"d have surely raised preflop and not an overpair as again pre flop he wouldve probably raised with anything from 55+

put him on a couple of face cards but thought it was worth the risk

thoughts?

(side note - was a bit tilty as i had recently been on 11k in chips and cruising but had the usual of my KQ  shove into medium stacks or players with less than 5BB"s and hitting flops calling with connectors or any 2 suited cards  >:( )

ach well - 2 hours hard work and nowt to show for it as a few hands later my 10-10 was called by AK and the K hit the river

(top 2 got tickets into weekly final - had it been tickets to the event itself i"d have probably folded in the original hand and looked for a better spot)

plus note the villain angel bust out in 4th

Gd call on the flop imo, correct decision. I just hate seeing live overs QJo ~ 97s with 6 outs when you make this call so there is a case to fold but against this opponent given that we checked pre, call is fine by me (but thats not saying much!!!)

pos pre raise tho if you think his been at it......... and shown that he can limp light especially considering its headsup pot. by the same right tho 20% of the time I want to see a cheap flop with this eediot and get some easy chips.

With the blinds at 900 an orbit and so short handed, a pretty automatic call for me, as you say there was no way he had the ace!

noble1:
you have followed your gut and your read of him perfectly and called with by far the best hand..do not beat yourself up about it.
If you keep making good calls like this when you are a 6.7 to 1 favourite somehow me thinks you"ll win more than you lose  ;D
Even if villain had QJo you are getting your chips in as a 3.3 to 1 fav.. and so on and so on, very good call LongshanksED ...

Agreed. I still dont like seeing live overs though to my 1pair.
