You all said that you were intent on joining the BCPC for Season 2....is this still the case ?
If so, could you please reply to the e-mails that I sent you regarding our AGM night and the next online satellite as I have not received one as yet and am beginning to think that I am sending them to the wrong addresses !!.

PantsMan:
I"ve also signed up for Cardiff Brian. Don"t know where i"m going to be stopping yet, hoping to find somewhere cheap and cheerful as all i really need is a bed for the night. Well, hopefully i won"t be out early and in bed by 6!

BOINGBLITZ:
BCPC WEEK FIVE

Week five of the BCPC Season One took place on Friday March 13th with 11 members playing on 2 tables. This was a triple-chance freezeout with 6k total in chips and would be the only tourney to have more than 5k this Season.
Darren Hooper became the first casualty in level 3 so we were then down to a single table and he was soon followed by Paul Melia, who couldn"t follow up his impressive second place gained in Week Four as he ran
qh  jh
into Steve Redfern"s
kc  jc
after getting low-stacked.

Paul"s conqueror heads-up in week 4 was Marcel Furet, who has been performing well recently online for Walsall in the APAT National League. This time though it was an early exit when he pushed his final 2k into the middle with
kc  ts
on a
kh  4d  9h
flop, only to see Chris Baker turn over
9d  9c.

Tony Trippier had produced a disappointing performance in Week 4 and needed a good showing in this one to make up an 11-point defecit on League Leader Brian Yates but it was not to be as he ran
ac  qh
into Matt McKinlay"s
:as:  kh
on a king-high flop to exit in 8th place.

Matt was soon to get lucky though when he was all-in against his better half Maxine as he held
:as:  tc
but was dismayed to see
ah  ks.
But a board of
:2c:  :3c:  6c  8h  7c
gave Matt a fortunate flush and a few hands later he eliminated Max with
:as:  js against  ah  8d .

Paul Foy gave himself a real chance in the League this season when he won week two but that chance ended when he pushed all-in with
kh 4d
only to see a delighted Steve table
:as:  kd .
Cheers went up when the
4s
hit the flop but a cruel
ac
on the river saw Paul out in 6th place.

Steve, 2 points adrift of Brian in the League standings, was now looking strong and was delighted when  Matt's
tc  td
held up against Brian"s
qh  js
to send him out in 5th place that saw him score just 2 points.

A 2nd place finish for Steve would see him go back to the top of the tree for the first time since week one while Chris Baker knew that a win would do the same for him. Chris somehow contrived to whittle away his big chip-lead and it was somehow inevitable that he and Steve would clash and that moment came when Chris pushed with
kd  9d .
Steve needed a big hand to call him......and found
ah  ad
to be big enough !
Exit a gutted Chris in 4th spot now needing a lot of help to become Champion.

Steve was now the favourite but after losing a race with
5h  5s against  :as:  9c ,
he then was finally seen off by Matt as his monsterous
6c  5c
held up against Steve"s
4s  :2h: !!

The 2 points gained were not enough to take him top though, so it will be all to play for in the Final week of the season for Steve.

That left the heads-Up between Matt McKinlay and......well......it"s Malcolm Howell. Malcolm had nursed a micro-stack for long periods, didn"t knock anyone out on the way, but here he was in the last two and in only his 2nd game as a club-member, he saw off Matt after about 30 minutes of play with his
kd  js
beating Matt's dominated   kc  4s.

That leaves the table after week 5 looking like this :-

POS                                      PLD  PTS
1    BRIAN YATES                     5     43
2    STEVE REDFERN                 5     43
3    CHRIS BAKER                     4     36
4    TONY TRIPPIER                  5     33

5    PAUL FOY                         5     30
6    MARCEL FURET                  5     26
7    MATT McKINLAY                4     22
8    DARREN HOOPER                5     21
9    PAUL MELIA                      5     19
10   MALCOLM HOWELL              2     18
11   MAXINE McKINLAY              2      8
12   ANTHONY WILLIAMS           1      5
(Only your best 4 scores count)

That means that for Tony or Chris to win the Title, they have to WIN in week 6 and Steve cannot finish 2nd OR Brian finish 4th or better.

Steve will win it if he finishes 3rd providing Brian finishes below 4th and Chris or Tony don"t win it. 2nd place wins it if Brian isn"t first while a win would take the maths out of the equation altogether !

Brian will be Champion if Steve fails to make the top 3 and neither Tony or Chris win it. If Brian finishes 4th Steve MUST finish above him. If Tony, Chris or Steve don"t make at least the top 3, then Brian will be Champion anyway, irrespective of where he finishes.

It looks all set for an exciting finish to a tremendous first season for the BCPC.

 Roll on April 3rd !!
