It seemed the right play, you'll tell me otherwise

Forgetting that we know his hand now, and you still face an UTG raise which you chose to reraise.

If he jams the lot in what is your action?

Just wondering??

I"d guess I"m folding then.  I have been looking at how I could have played this hand and knowing what he has, how he may have played it.

1  Fold my AQ when he raises UTG.  Well that is one option.

2  Shove all-in.  I can"t see him calling that ?

3  Flat call and see the flop.

He"s still going to check, and I"ve still got top pair with top kicker.  I"m not going to want to see another card though, with the clubs out there.

What do I do then ?

deanp27:
i"m not sure you should be 3bet/folding with a 30bb stack. If you are going to fold to a 4bet i would suggest not 3betting in the first place.

you could flat call and take it from there, it wouldn"t be that bad.

i wouldn"t 3bet AQ in this spot in (say) an APAT event where most of the players have respect for position and starting hands, but my experience in tournies like this says you can 3bet AQ here for value, but i suppose it depends upon your attitude to variance.

bigredders:
dont see anything you did wrong there leigh, his play his horrible the raise from that position is terrible and his call is even worse. People take pot odds too literally sometimes. when calling a hand you need to put your apponent on a hand range and work out your chance of winning based on that range. he has to put you on a high ace/ a mid to high pair. I think if his hand wasnt suited he wouldn"t even be in the hand. What does he want to see apart from the flop he got?

you have to bet out on that flop, cant give him a free card

only thing i might change is just calling in position rather than raising, but dont mind the raise as your defining your hand.

i personally think floding is way too tight imo ;D

Bear in mind that the raise has come from UTG (and we do not know yet that he is a spewer) what range do you put UTG on? Does AQo really play well against this range?
