Table Etiquette & General Behaviour

MAIR:
I very rarely post about anything, mostly I respond to posts.

I am concerned enough to post about this tho.

The last 2 legs of the National League in the Northern Division have been disturbing in chat.

The first incident was in Leg 2, during the Final Table and the banter, although good at first, got way out of hand and bordered on disgusting and offensive.  I did respond, in chat, that i wast not happy with the content of the conversation and thankfully it eventually stopped, but really I feel there is absolutely no need for that kind of chat, be it in jest or not.

In Leg 3, last night, I was so disappointed, once again, at FT for a player to start attacking one of the players left remaining.  I had noticed a lil bit of banter going on between them earlier on during hands played, but when it got to FT it got way out of control for a while, and I eventually I said in chat, please guys cmon there are people still playing here let them concentrate.

I dont mind banter at all, some of it is really funny and I just love chatting to everyone whilst playing, its good for morale as well when teams cheer each other on, but what I hate to see is players arguing over hands and calling people donks etc and having a heated argument, I especially dislike disgusting chat of a nature that shouldnt be said, whether in jest or not.

It will be nice to go forward from this and see normal light banter and support of teams and allowing players to be able to concentrate on their game rather than see stuff like that in the chat window.

I agree that players should respect one another at the table. Name calling and accusations are bad for the game and against the spirit of APAT.

I was lucky enough to make the leg 2 final table and I can honestly say I dont really remember it being so bad. Hope that doesn"t mean it was me being abusive.

Last night there was a comment made from a player who had just been put out about another still active player being rude. I have to say it was resolved very quickly, helped by yourself and a few other players requesting the guy chill out. In the end the guy wished everyone gl and left graciously.

I have noticed some new APAT players taking a little while to become accustomed to the respectful nature of play promoted within APAT. I say give it a little time and lead by example and everything will work itself out. :)

A very good response Colin.

The "crude" ones in Leg 2 know who they are as again, Mary was firm but fair with them at the time. Both Mary and I have copies of the Chat from the past two Legs but decided between us that it would not be taken further at this time.

Looking forward. If there are any issues raised with the Belfast team I would appreciate the opportunity to be involved in any discussion - prior to any action being taken.

Many Thanks

Honeybadg:
... I would say very good banter with the Belfast players in week one ... when I came 4th and they came 1-2-3.

It added to the game ... added some friendly spice.
