Tales of the Honeybadger
Honeybadg:
Day 1 of Team Event.
Solid 44 points - Leaders have 55
Individually 14 points
NLHE 5th : losing AQ into Qxx vs AA and AQ vs AT in successive hands
PLO 5th : losing AAxx vs QQxx after epic card dead run
Heads Up to wins ...
Middle of the pack ... but everyone in play ...

Honeybadg:
Day 2 - No Mistakes made - but not enough to help win Scotland a medal.
NLHE 2nd : Ousted KK vs Q6s - lots of Q"s on the board
MTT : 6th : Short Stack throughtout - waited patiently - the final shove J6 into 76 - but no joy with a 7 on the flop ...
4 exits - all in when ahead - yet top individual points scorer - but 4th place and no medal.
I guess you always look to learn something from such events - there were marginal hands to play differently - but little really that I would change beyond cards standing up.
Main Event to come - who knows where my head will be for that?
Strange to be typing this at 5.40am - one tournament to bed - with another to rise tomorrow!
Interesting chat in the bar - poker hands and ranges - and the ability to sometimes get away from coolers and then come back to win.
Some talk about the structure of the event too.
In truth I wouldn"t do a lot to it - points could be tweaked and stacks made deeper - antes could be brought in earlier to create more play - but in the end Wales" MTT prowess shines through again to take down the win.
Time for bed and to dream of raising hands of all shapes and sizes!

Next up - how to win the Main Event on 2hrs40 sleep ...
I really don"t do late nights - but good to be leaving the bar just past 5am.
Key question - Is Red Bull or Guinness the solution?
Battle plan is in place.
FTW

Main Event ... no joys ...
Tried to play allsorts but missed everything ... finally getting ousted with KK vs AA (JJ also folded) ... don"t think I folding that.
Great eccles cake on the way home ...

Honeybadg:
... the Eccles cake now a faint memory ... starting to ponder the Sunday Warm up ...
Athletics betting off to a good start - opposing Farah in the 10000m - lost by a whisker - not the way I thought it would go (losing to the fast finishing Jelian) but I"ll take the money ... perhaps the pre-amble to Olympic victory ...
Next up Yohan Blake to beat Usain Bolt??? 13/1 is massive - in what should be a close race - I expect Blake will run 9.80 - so by how much can Bolt beat that??
Should be a great race ...
