Straddle

SirPercival:
Can someone please explain how a "sleeper straddle" works.

I understand "live straddle" but not seen "sleeper" before.

lukybugur:
A "sleeper straddle" is when a player two to the left of the last straddler doesn"t look at his cards if he"s interested in playing the straddle.

So, SB posts, BB posts, UTG doesn"t but UTG+1 wants to ... UTG+1 can post the straddle if UTG folds and so it can go on.

duke3016:
A sleeper straddle is a blind bet placed from any position at the table other than under the gun that may be taken back by the player that placed it if there is a raise in front of him. If there isn"t, the sleeper has the option of raising the bet when the action comes to him.

not to be confused with the Mississippi straddle
