Cash game top-up ??

(1/3) > >>

BOOTSY100:
Hello

Just wondering what people think about keeping your balance toped up in cash games.

I go in with the the Maximum allowed as i learnt some harsh lessons by going in short stacked and being bullied.

But have noticed recently a number of players will reload to max every time they loose even 5 - 10 %.

Surely this makes it more difficult to pace yourself and means you risk becoming a calling station.

My take is that it gives me a target to get back to level and then head for profit. It makes me concentrate and play better poker.

but i would like some opinions.

On a final note anyone going to Gt Yarmouth Saturday to watch me take the GOLD !!

Doyle brunson always takes the max to the cash tables and will always top up if he falls below. That would be good enough for me.

As someone who rarely plays online cash, I will assume it is because you want max value from all in situations.

Keep topping up.  When you win big, you maximise your winnings.

I find that setting artificial targets, such as getting back to level (for example) mean that you deviate from your A-game.  If I see a player get back to level, and then get involved in a pot on a dangerous board, I"m going to be betting into them knowing that they are likely to be getting out of the way.  After working hard to get level again, they aren"t going to want to risk a big chunk of chips immediately.

Just my thoughts.  Your mileage may vary.
