If you say to the dealer "how much is it to bet the pot?" they have to tell you.
If you just say "pot" the bet stands. They will still tell you how much it is but you"ve not asked a question, you"ve made your bet.
It"s easy enough to work out yourself anyway tbh. Just takes a bit of getting used to.
Easiest way is 3 x the previous bet + whatever else is in the pot.
So if action goes 25, 50, 125, 125 the pot bet is (125 x 3) + 125 + 50 + 25 = 575
