a good book for some percentages and hand rankings is the full tilt poker strategy guide.

The best book for begginers (im my opion) is "Little green book" by Phill Gordon.
Covers almost everything that you will encounter during tourneys, and is much easier and more fun to read than Harringtons very slow books. He explaines pot odds, expressed and implied in a more simple way. Trouble with Harringtons books is that he contradicts himself to much. for example the whole book is supposed to be about deepstacked tourneys, but lots of examples inside from hand historys are infact from $10 online sngs. And i for one, would be very surprised if Dan plays $10 sngs........
